1. Setup general information
Step 1. Open the "Buy X Get Y Promotion" setup page
Go to [Promotions & Reward] > [Bundle Promotions]. Click Add and select Buy X Get Y Promotion to begin set up.
Step 2. Create a campaign
On the edit page, please fill in the promotion name of the campaign. This name will appear on the checkout page as the "Applied Promotion." If you have enabled the feature of "Show promotion campaign information on product details page" in [Promotions & Reward] > [Promotions] > [Promotion Settings], the name will be shown in the product detail pages as well.
*Suggestion: For effective marketing, promotion names should be titled clearly and include the discount condition, type, and eligible customers. For example, "Buy 1 Get 1 - Selected Soap of Your Choice, and Get 1 For Free".
- You can input only one language.
- The Promotion Name is limited to 100 characters.

Do not write in {{Chinese}} format, e.g., {{聖誕優惠}}.
Step 3. Available channel
The "Online Store" is checked by default; check "Retail Store" to synchronize this promotion.
*Note: Retail Store cannot be selected in the following scenarios:
- Merchants with no retail POS plan or Smart OMO module
- Promotion type as "Free Gift" or Promotion method as "For Affiliate Campaign Only"
Step 4. Discount Summary
Once you have set up your promotion type and conditions, a summary of your promotion will show up in this field for quick reference.
i. Set Benefit Type
The promotion is categorized into three types: Free, Special Price, and Discount %.
*Note: The three promotion types above are "Stackable". For example, Buy 1 Get 1 will automatically apply Buy 2 Get 2; Buy 1 Enjoy 1 item for 50% off, same offer for Buy 2 Enjoy 2 items for 50% off.
ii. Set Event(s) and Condition(s)
The different types of discounts conditions are shown as follows:
A. Free
Enter the number of select product items and additional discount items. For example, in Buy 1, get 1 free (i.e., buy one get one free), customers will need to buy at least two items to apply this promotion.
B. Special Price
Enter the number of select product items, the number of additional discount items, and their price. For example, Buy 1 Get 1 discounted for $1 (i.e., pay $1 for the second item).
*Note: If you set "Buy 1 Get 2 for $100", the second and third items will be a total of $100, and not the second and third items cost each $100.
C. Discount %
Enter the number of select product items, the number of additional discount items, and their discount %. For example, Buy 1 Get 1 for 50% off (i.e., the second item is half off).
iii. Select Products Eligible for Promotion
Select an item to which the promotion can be applied. You can use search by Keywords/ Product tags/ Categories in the search bar or click "Select all in this page" to sort through quickly and select products.
*Note: You can select up to 10000 items maximum.

2. Scenarios of applying "Buy X Get Y Promotion"
The following will go over the rules of how to apply the "Buy X Get Y Promotion"
Scenario 1: Select 1 items, and get 1 for free.
The customer buys the following select items:
- Product A $100, a total of 3 items
- Product B $200, a total of 1 item
- Product C $100, a total of 2 items
- Product D $300, a total of 1 item
The customer buys a total of 7 items; due to the "Buy 1 Get 1 for Free" promotion, three sets of Buy X Get Y Promotion will be applied. The 3 products with the lowest price will be applied with the promotion (if the product prices are the same, the system will sort the products according to the time it was added to the cart).
- Product A $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion —> Free Item
- Product A $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion —> Free Item
- Product A $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion —> Free Item
- Product C $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
- Product C $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
- Product B $200 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
- Product D $300
Total of 1000-(100x3)=$700
Scenario 2: Buy 2, and get 1 for $1 (Add $1 for 1 more item)
The customer buys the following select items:
- Product A $100, a total of 1 item
- Product B $200, a total of 2 items
The customer buys a total of 3 items, so 1 set of Buy X Get Y Promotion will be applied. The product with the lowest price will be applied with a promotion of $1 total. (if the product prices are the same, the system will sort the products according to the time it was added to the cart).
- Product A $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion —> Product A will be applied with the promotion of $1 total
- Product B $200 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
- Product B $200 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
Total of 500-(100-1)=$401
Scenario 3: Buy 2, get 1 for 50% off. (Half off 2nd item)
The customer buys the following select items:
- Product A $100, a total of 1 item.
- Product B $200, a total of 2 items.
The customer buys a total of 3 items, so one set of Buy X Get Y Promotion will be applied, and the product with the lowest price will be applied with the 50% off (if the product prices are the same, the system will sort the products according to the time it was added to the cart).
- Product A $100 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion —> Product A will be applied with promotion of 50% off
- Product B $200 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
- Product B $200 meets the Buy X Get Y Promotion
Total of 500-(100-50)=$450
3. Duplicate promotion
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Promotions & Reward] > [Promotions] > [Bundle Promotions] > [Buy X Get Y]. Find the promotional campaign you would like to duplicate, click open the drop-down menu, and select Duplicate.
The system will direct you to the promotion setup page and duplicate the following fields of the selected promotion.

Duplicate all fields, including Promotion Name, Available Channel, Discount Summary, Purchase Condition, Benefit Type, Events and Conditions, and Selected Product. |

3. Set Benefits & Criteria | No duplication for any fields. "Auto apply promotion" is selected by default. |

Duplicate all fields, including Payment Options and Delivery Options. |
*Notes:
- Duplication of promotion pages and SEO settings are currently are not supported.
- After duplicating a campaign, you still need to click Confirm &Publish the Discount Promotion to successfully create the campaign.
4. Notes
- For "Auto Applied" Buy X Get Y/ A+B/ Bundle Promotions, the promotion date and target audience of the promoted select products cannot overlap.
For example: When Buy X Get Y Promotion A includes the select item "Essential oil", other Buy X Get Y/ A+B/ Bundle Promotions with select items that share the same promotion date and target audience will not be able to include the same "Essential oil."
- Each item in the shopping cart can only be applied to one type of promotion, and the order of application is as follows:
- Apply Method: Coupon Code > Affiliate Campaign Code > Auto Apply
- Discount type: Buy X Get Y Promotions > A+B Promotions > Bundle Promotions > Selected Products Promotions > Selected Categories Promotions
- Target Group: Specific Customer Tags > Specific Membership Tier(s) > All Members > All Customers
- The promotion that was created the earliest.

*The following is a sequence diagram for the application of promotions. The promotions will be applied from top to bottom, except those related to gifts, which can be applied in a stack. As for the rest of the promotions, only one will be applied per row.
