Omni-channel data analysis provides a more comprehensive data analysis report for stores that use online store and POS plans (O2O) at the same time. You can view omni-channel integrated data and multi-dimensional graphical reports in Shoplytics and keep track of your online store's and retail store's operational status separately by switching tabs. This allows you to better understand the source channels of orders/ customers and the performance of each channel so you can adjust your operating strategies accordingly.

In this article, you will be introduced to the following:

1. Pages that support omni-channel data

Home, Products, Shopper Analysis, and Order Overview, these 4 analysis pages support omni-channel data.

i. Home

You can check key operating metrics as an overview or individual channel from the "Home" page to understand your store's performance more by selecting a specific analysis range and applying the comparison feature. For more details about metrics, please refer to Home|Shoplytics.

ii. Products, Shopper Analysis, and Order Overview

You can find the switching (channel split) tab at the top of these three analysis charts, and enter the channel you want to view.

i. Amount and quantity

The amount, quantity, and proportion of the data of the "Online Store" and "Retail Store" are accessible via the "Omni-Channel" tab in [Home], [Products], and [Orders] > [Order Overview].

There are combined amount and split data of "Online Store" and "Retail Store" below. Click on the indicator block to expand the data within the selected period. You can select "Omni-Channel", "Online Store", and "Retail Store" to display the line graphs of those channels according to your needs.

ii. Line chart that shows a percentage

You can see the percentage of channel data via the "Omni-Channel" tab in [Products], [Orders] > [Order Overview], and [Customers] > [Shopper Analysis].

The "Order Overview" page as an example

The total order volume is the data of all channels, and the proportion of individual orders in the "Online Store" and "Retail Store" is also listed below. You can adjust the channel data displayed in the line chart by clicking "Omni-Channel", "Online Store", and "Retail Store."

iii. Sunburst chart

Customers may make purchases through different channels. SHOPLINE provides comprehensive customer analysis across all channels in [Customer] > [Shopper Analysis], allowing you to gain better insight into the performance of different channels and customer types (i.e. first-time buyers and repeat customers). It presents the channels and customer attributes using a sunburst chart, helping you formulate operational strategies. For more details about metrics, please refer to Customers: Shopper Analysis|Shoplytics.

3. Channels & Stores permission

With the "Channels & Stores" permission in Shoplytics, you can effectively grant access to various types of data to retail store staff without displaying online store data. It also allows you to decide whether to enable online store personnel to access data related to both retail stores and online stores or just one of them. You can authorize specific administrators to view or export data reports for different pages within Shoplytics, enabling more efficient management of both online and retail stores and optimizing performance across channels.

i. Edit Staff Permissions in the Admin

A. Where to edit permission

Go to the Admin > [Settings] > [Permission & Security] > [Edit] (the desired store administrator) > [Shoplytics Access Rights] and you will see the "Channels & Stores" section.

B. "Give Full Permission" vs. "View Only"

a. You are required to check either the "Give Full Permission" or "View Only" box, or a warning will pop up as indicated below.

Screenshot

  • For merchants using the e-Commerce and Retail POS plans, the "Channels & Stores" section will display both "Online Store" and "Retail Store," as shown above.
  • For merchants using the Retail POS plan only, the "Channels & Stores" section will only display "Retail Store" and the branches below.
  • For merchants using the e-Commerce plan only, there will be no "Channels & Stores" section.

b. When you check the "Give Full Permission" or "View Only" box:

  • All the boxes in the "Channels & Stores" and "Analysis Section" will be automatically selected. You can make further adjustments according to your needs.
  • When "Give Full Permission" is checked, but you uncheck any of the boxes in the "Channels & Stores" and "Analysis Section," then the "Give Full Permission" box will become unchecked too.

c. When setting up a new store (Retail Store branch):

  • For users with permissions of "Give Full Permission" or "View Only,"  the new store permission will be selected by default.
  • For users without permissions of "Give Full Permission" or "View Only," the new store permission will not be selected (i.e. existing stores will remain checked, but the "Retail Store" checkbox will be unchecked because the new store is not checked).

C. The "Channel split tab" and "Store selector" features

Once the "Channels & Stores" permission is granted, you will be able to see the "Channel split tab" and "Store selector" features within the various pages of Shoplytics.
