Bundle Promotion Step 1 - General Information

The Bundle Promotion feature allows merchants to set up promotions for a specific price for a certain amount of products. In this article, you will learn how to set up the general information of a Bundle Promotion.

1. Before creating a campaign

Proceed to SHOPLINE Admin > [Promotions & Reward] > [Bundle Promotion] and click the View Promotions Analysis button on the top right to view more detailed promotions data.

2. Setup general settings

Step 1. Create a Bundle Promotion in Admin 

In [Promotions & Reward] > [Bundle Promotion], click Add to create a bundle promotion campaign.

Step 2. Promotion name

When entering the promotion name, the name will display on the checkout page under "Applied promotions". If you enabled the "Show promotion campaign information on product details page" feature in [Promotions & Reward] > [Promotions] > [Promotion Settings], the promotion name will also display on the products detail page. 

*Note: We would advise you to set your promotion name by listing the condition, benefit type, and target customer clearly for easy reference. For example, "Bundle Promotion - Buy 3 for $999". 

  • You could input only one language.
  • The Promotion Name is limited to 100 characters.
  • Do not write in {{Chinese}} format, e.g., {{聖誕優惠}}.

Step 3. Available channel 

The Online Store is set by default, check "Retail Store" to sync its discount with the online store. 

*Note: Retail Store cannot be selected in the scenarios below:

  • Do not have the Retail POS plan or Smart OMO module
  • Select "Free Gift" for the benefit type or promotions that are marked as "For Affiliate Campaign Only"

Step 4. Discount Summary

Once you have set up your promotion type and conditions, a summary of your promotion will show up in this field for quick reference.

i. Set Benefit Type

  • There are 4 types of discounts:  Pricing, Discount %, Discount Amount, and Free Gift.

  • Stackable Pricing: Once the checkout items reach the conditions, the discount begins to stack up. For example: Buy 3 items for $100, auto-apply 6 items for $200, 9 items for $300, and so on.

    *Note: You will only have the option to enable/ disable the stackable setting for "Pricing" discount type. The rest of the discount types - "Discount %", "Discount Amount" and "Free Gift" are set to be stackable by default.

ii. Set Event(s) and Condition(s)

Enter the product quantity and total, for example, select any 3 products with a total of $1000. 

A. Pricing

Enter Group A and Group B quantity and discounted price. For example, purchase 1 item from Group A and 1 item from Group B for NT$1,000.

B. Discount %

Enter the product quantity and discount percentage. For example, select 3 items, and the total with be discounted by 10%.

C. Discount Amount 

Enter the product quantity and discount amount. For example, select 3 items for a total of $50 off.

D. Free Gift 

Enter the product and free gift quantity, and click Select to pick a free gift from the created free gifts in-store. For example, buy 3 items to get one nail polish.

*Note: You can click Add Benefits & Condition Tiers for the benefit types above to add more benefit conditions.

iii. Select Products Eligible for Promotion

You can separately choose products for bundle promotion by using the keywords/ tags/ categories in the search bar or clicking "Select all in this page" to quickly sort through and select products.

3. Bundle Promotion application

The following will cover each scenario in which the "Bundle Promotion" is applied. 

Scenario 1: Select 3 product A's with a total of $1000, and disable "Stackable Pricing".
  • When the customer purchases 3 product A's, the total will be $1000. 
  • If the customer purchases over 3 products, the 4th product and more will be calculated with the original price of product A. 

 

Scenario 2: Select 3 product A's with a total of $1000, select 6 product A's with a total of $1800, and disable "Stackable Pricing".
  • When the customer purchases 3 product A's, the total will be $1000. 
  • When the customer purchases 4 product A's, the total will be $1000 plus the original price of 1 product A. 
  • When the customer purchases 6 product A's with a total of $1800. 
  • When the customer purchases 7 product A's with a total of $1800 plus the original price of 1 product A. 

 

Scenario 3: Select 3 product A's with a total of $1000, select 7 product A's with a total of $2200, and disable "Stackable pricing".

*Note: Once the stackable pricing is switched on, the promotion application method will be "Once the quantity has reached set benefit condition, the promotion will auto-apply on stackable pricing."

  • When the customer purchases 3 product A's, the total will be $1000. 
  • When the customer purchases 4 product A's, the total will be $1000 plus the original price of 1 product A. 
  • When the customer purchases 6 product A's, the total will be $1000*2= $2000. 
  • When the customer purchases 7 product A's, the total will be $2200. 
  • When the customer purchases 8 product A's, the total will be $2200 plus the original price of 1 product A. 
  • When the customer purchases 10 (3+7) product A's, the total amount will be 1000+2200=$3200. 
  • When the customer purchases 11 product A's, the total will be $3200 plus the original price of 1 product A. 
  • When the customer purchases 13 (3+3+7) product A's, the total will be 1000*2+2200= $4200. 
  • When the customer purchases 14 (7+7) product A's, the total will be 2200*2=$4400. 

 

4. Duplicate promotion

In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Promotions & Reward] > [Promotions] > [Bundle Promotions]. Find the promotional campaign you would like to duplicate, click open the drop-down menu, and select Duplicate.

The system will direct you to the promotion setup page and duplicate the following fields of the selected promotion.

Setup steps Duplicated fields
1. General Information

Duplicate all fields, including Promotion Name, Available Channel, Discount Summary, Purchase Condition, Benefit Type, Events and Conditions, and Selected Product.

2. Set Target Group

Duplicate all fields, including Target Group, Member Group, Customer Tags, and Other Settings.

3. Set Benefits & Criteria No duplication for any fields. "Auto apply promotion" is selected by default.
4.Set Valid Payment & Delivery Options

Duplicate all fields, including Payment Options and Delivery Options. 

 

*Notes:

  • Duplication of promotion pages and SEO settings are currently are not supported.
  • After duplicating a campaign, you still need to click Confirm &Publish the Discount Promotion to successfully create the campaign.

 

5. Notes

  • Select promotions that support the two promotion application methods: "Auto apply promotion" and "For Affiliate Campaign Only."

  • For Buy X Get Y / A + B / Bundle promotions that are set to be "auto-applied," the promotion dates and target groups for specific product discounts cannot overlap. For example, if the specific products of a Buy X Get Y promotion (say, Promotion A) include a kind of essential oil, other Buy X Get Y / A + B / Bundle promotions with the same promotion date and target group as Promotion A CANNOT include the same essential oil.

  • Select up to 10 benefit conditions with 1 bundle promotion, and there is no need to set conditions in multiples, as you set a discount for a bundle of 2 products/ 3 products/ 4 products. 

  • Each product in the shopping cart can only apply one discount type (Pricing/ Discount %/ Discount Amount), the promotion will be applied in the order of the following: 
    • Apply Method: Coupon Code > Affiliate Campaign Code > Auto Apply
    • Discount type: A+B Promotions > Bundle Promotions > Selected Products Promotions > Selected Categories Promotions 
    • Target Group: Specific Customer Tags > Specific Membership Tier(s) > All Members > All Customers
    • The promotion created the earliest
  • The shopping cart can apply for multiple free gift promotions at the same time as long as the conditions are met. This means the selected product of multiple free gift promotions can be the same in overlapped valid periods and target groups.

* The following is a sequence diagram for the application of promotions. The promotions will be applied from top to bottom, except those related to gifts, which can be applied in a stack. As for the rest of the promotions, only one will be applied per row.
