In SHOPLINE Admin under "Pages", Merchants will be able to edit the Advanced Page, Text Page and also decide which one to set as Homepage.
We will be going through the following:
1. List of pages
Once you enter SHOPLINE Admin, proceed to [Online Store Design] > [Pages]. You can view all established online store pages in the list.
You can also view which page has been currently set as the Default Homepage. Please refer to 2. Default Homepage for more details.
A. System default pages
The system initially defaults to 7 pages:
Home, About, Shop All, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Return Policy, and Delivery Policy are the seven pages we suggest all merchants must have which cannot be deleted. You may start creating your store content from here.
- The Homepage is categorized under "Advanced page".
- About, Terms and Conditions and Return Policy are categorized under "Text Page".
- Shop All is a summary page of all the products in the shop and can be used for search optimization.
*Note: when customers are checking out, they must check "I agree to the shop’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy". If they click Terms of Use, they will be directed to the "Terms and Condition" page; if they click on Privacy Policy, they will be directed to the "Privacy Policy" page.
B. Add a new page
There are two types of pages that can be added: Text Page and Advanced Page. Click the buttons at the top right of the list to add new pages.
- New pages will automatically be sorted to the bottom of the page table.
- New pages need to be added to the online store catalog in order to display on the storefront. For more details please refer to Menu Navigation.
- For more details regarding Text Page, please refer to this article.
- For more details regarding Advanced Page, please refer to this article.
- The Social Commerce Plan does not support the "Add New Page" feature.
C. Quick search page title
Enter the page title in the search bar on top of "Pages", then click the "Magnifier" icon on the right to quickly search for the page title.
The search logic is explained as follows:
1. Supports entering multilingual page titles. The system will match the page title in the current Admin language (if you are currently using the Traditional Chinese Admin interface, the system will match with the Traditional Chinese page title), and display the pages that match the title inquired.
If the page does not have a title in the language used in the current Admin interface, the system will match with the titles in other languages.
Traditional Chinese Title | English Title | Condition: Use the Traditional Chinese interface, and enter "new page" into the search bar | |
Page A | 新的分頁 | new page |
The system will match the Traditional Chinese title "新的分頁", since the Traditional Chinese title "新的分頁" and "new page" do not match, the page will not be displayed. |
Page B | (No title) | new page | The system will match the Traditional Chinese title, and because this page does not have a Traditional Chinese title, it will match titles in other languages. Since the English title matches, the page will be displayed. *Note: The title of this page is displayed in the order of [Settings] > [Basic Settings] > [Supported Shop Languages] |
2. The system supports fuzzy search, which means you can search for the page without entering the full page title. However, fuzzy search does not support mixed upper and lower case English, you will need to enter the same English letter case as the page title.
D. Edit, copy, delete pages
You can edit, copy and delete pages through the "Page" list.
*Note:
- Editing and deleting features are currently not available on default pages.
- The copying feature is only available on the Advanced Pages. For Text Pages, we suggest you directly copy and paste content to a new page.
- The Social Commerce Plan does not support the Delete feature for Pages.
Page Builder (New)
SHOPLINE launched a brand new Page Builder, which greatly optimizes the design for advanced pages. You can design the announcement board, header & footer, and up to six kinds of widgets to create a unique online store layout. Please refer to this article for the detailed steps.
*Note:
- The new page builder currently only supports Ultra Chic, Kingsman and Varm themes.
- After creating a page using the new page builder, the page can still be displayed even if you switch to other themes, but it cannot be edited and the layout may be messed up. Please take note of this before publishing the page.
- The storefront layouts that support display but do not support editing in the New Page Builder are Dusk, Philia, Skya, Sangria, Bianco, and Doris Bien. Other storefront layouts do not support editing or display.
2. Default Homepage
In the "Default Homepage" section, the page selected for the online store homepage will be shown under "Page Title".
Click the Edit button on the right to re-select your default homepage.
*Note: You can directly enter a page name in the search bar to quickly find the existing pages.
3. Scheduled Homepage
The system will automatically switch your Default Homepage to the Scheduled Homepage according to the time range you set.
Step 1
In the "Scheduled Homepage" section, select "Add scheduled homepage".
Step 2
You may pick an existing page as the Schedule Homepage and the validity period.
*Note: You can directly enter a page name in the search bar to quickly find the existing pages.
After you have completed the setup, you can view the "Page Title" and "Validity Period" in the schedule homepage table.
*Note: Click "Add Scheduled Homepage" again if you need to add a second or third Scheduled Homepage.
*Note:
- If you did not set a Scheduled Homepage, the online store Homepage will remain as the Default Homepage.
- In the drop-down menu, there will be a "Default Homepage" label indicating the current Default Homepage.
- Different Scheduled Homepages will fail if the time slots overlap.
- The Scheduled Homepage feature currently supports up to 3 pages, if you already have 3 Scheduled Homepages, the "Add New Scheduled Homepage" button will disappear.
- The Scheduled Homepage table is sorted from top to bottom in the order of In progress, About to start and Already ended. Current features only support editing for "In progress" scheduled homepages.
- If you have already set 3 scheduled homepages, you will need to delete the scheduled homepages listed as "Ended" to add new ones.
Custom "Homepage" Menu Navigation Display
You can decide the content of your "Homepage" in the menu navigation of your storefront.
Step 1. On "Pages", click on the editing page of the default Homepage.
Step 2. Click SEO Settings.
Step 3. In the "Set Custom URL" section, click Apply the URL to customize the URL. Once setup is complete, close the "Build" menu and click Save at the bottom right.
If you use a Custom URL, even if the homepage of the online store is not the "Homepage" (whether you have set the default home page to another page or you have scheduled a homepage), when you click on "Homepage" in the menu navigation, the contents of the "Homepage" will still be displayed.
*Notes: If you use a default Domain URL (i.e. did not click "Apply URL" to customize URL), when you click on "Homepage" in the menu navigation, other default homepages or reserved homepage content will display instead of the"Homepage".
