*Note: This feature currently only supports merchants using the Retails POS Plan + Promotions Module together with the e-Commerce or Social Commerce Plan.
SHOPLINE's "free gift promotion" feature also supports retail stores. Merchants can create new exclusive free gifts or select existing products as free gifts for their retail stores.

1. Create free gift for the retail store
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products & Categories] > [Free Gifts], and click the Add button.
i. Create new free gifts
Step 1
Enter the following information for the new free gift.
- Name (required): Please enter the name of the free gift in at least one language.
- Free Gift Picture (required): You can drag and drop the image here, or click Add Photo to upload.
- Inventory Quantity (required): Set the inventory quantity for the new free gift. You can see the enabled warehouses in ONE Omni Channel. You can set different quantities for each warehouse respectively, or check "Unlimited".
- SKU: Create an SKU for more accurate sales analysis.
- Cost of Free Gift: Enter the cost of the free gift.
- Weight: Enter the weight of the free gift.
Step 2
Click Add to create a new free gift applicable to your retail store.
ii. Select existing products as free gifts
Step 1
Check "Select existing products to sell as gift item."
Step 2
In the pop-up window, select the product you wish to make as a free gift and click OK.
The system will sync the name and quantities in all warehouses of the selected product. *Note: When an existing product is selected as a free gift, the free gift shares the quantities in the respective warehouses. For example, the product "Coco Cupcakes" is a product and free gift in Retail Store A. Once you sell a Coco Cupcake or give one away as a free gift, the quantity is deducted from the warehouse of Retail Store A.
Step 3
Enter other information for the free gift.
- Free Gift Picture (required): You can drag and drop the image here, or click Add Photo to upload.
- SKU: Create an SKU for a more accurate sales analysis.
- Cost of Free Gift: Enter the cost of the free gift.
- Weight: Enter the weight of the free gift.
Step 4
Click Add to set an existing product as a free gift applicable to your retail store.
2. Set free gift promotion for retail store
Set free gift promotions for your retail store in the Admin. *Note: The applicable and currently inapplicable promotion campaigns are as follows:
- Applicable campaigns: Promotions, Bundle Promotions, A+B Promotions
- Inapplicable campaigns: Buy X Get Y Promotion, Points Redemption, Product Subscription Promotions
Step 1. Set up a promotion
Click Add to set up a promotion. If you would like to set up a free gift promotion, check "Retail Store" for Available Channel, and select "Free Gift" for "2. Set Benefit Type". Please refer to the following related articles for more details on promotion settings.

*Note: When setting up a free gift promotion campaign for your retail store, Retail Store Payment and Retail Store Pickup will be checked by default (the checkboxes will be greyed out and not changeable).
Step 2. Select free gift
Click Select to select a product as the free gift for this promotion in the pop-up window. Once done selecting, you can see the image, name, SKU, and quantity of the selected free gift. The "Discount Summary" section above will also automatically display the content of this promotion.
Step 3. Confirm and publish
After confirming the details of the free gift promotion, click Confirm & Publish the Discount Promotion to publish this promotion.
3. Usage record & reports of free gift for retail store
Click Usage Record of a free gift promotion to view the usage record of this promotion. All orders applied with this promotion will display here.
You can view the condition of all orders applied with this free gift promotion. Click the order number to be redirected to the detail page of the order. Click Export to export the free gift promotion usage report.
*Note: Cancelled orders will NOT be included in promotion usage counts.
In the report, you can view the available channels for this promotion, sources of the order, and more detailed information.
4. Display of related information
i. Transaction history on POS App
The information on free gifts in the POS App's transaction history is as follows:
- Image & name of free gift: If you have different promotions giving away the same free gift, the free gifts will be listed as multiple items based on the promotions.
- Retail store's current inventory quantity: The number shown is the quantity of the free gift when you view the order details, rather than the inventory quantity when the order was made.
- Free gift counts
- Total account of free gift: Set as $0 by default.
- Name & Tag of the promotion: Including Promotion, Bundle Promotion, A+B Promotion, and Coupon
ii. Order detail page in SHOPLINE Admin
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Order Management] > [Orders] to view the orders that include free gifts.
The information on free gifts on the order detail page is as follows:
- Image & name of free gift: If you have different promotions giving away the same free gift, the free gifts will be listed as multiple items based on the promotions.
- Free gift counts
- Total account of free gift: Set as $0 by default.
- Name & Tag of the promotion: Including Promotion, Bundle Promotion, A+B Promotion, and Coupon. The name of the promotion will display below the subtotal.
