In SHOPLINE's Message Center, you can switch on instant message notifications to receive notifications when customers send messages. You can also customize keyboard shortcut settings for creating a new line and sending messages.
This article will cover the following:
1. New message notification settings
Step 1
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Social Commerce] > [Message Center]. On the left menu, select [More Settings] > [General Settings].
Step 2
Select the "New Message Notification" tab. The new instant message notification is switched off by default. You can switch on the toggles on the right to enable the function.
*Note: You can only switch on the "Instant message announcement sound" when the "New instant message notification" toggle is on.
Step 3
Upon enabling the feature, the browser will ask for permission to show notifications. Please click Allow.
When you enable the new instant message notification and announcement sound, a customer's name and message content will appear at the upper right of the page when they send a new instant message, accompanied by a notification sound effect.
Clicking on the notification message will automatically redirect you to the message dialog with the customer.
*Note: The new message notification and sound effect will only appear while the Message Center tab is opened.
i. Shop Message
A red dot indicator will appear next to the "Shop Message" and "Order Message" tabs indicating new messages.
ii. Instant Message
The total number of unread messages will also be displayed on the browser tab, and next to the account icons you have connected with.
2. Keyboard shortcut settings
In [General Settings], select the "Keyboard Shortcut" tab. You can customize the shortcut keys for "Send a message" and "New line".
*Notes:
- By default, pressing "Enter" sends a message, and "Shift + Enter" creates a new line.
- You cannot assign the same shortcut to both actions. For example, if you have set "Enter" for sending a message, and try to set it again for creating a new line, the system will automatically switch the shortcut for sending a message to "Shift + Enter". (It will switch into the shortcut setting with the highest order in the drop-down menu.)
- Keyboard shortcut settings are unique to each administrator and can be customized individually.
These settings will be applied to the following:
- Conversation in the "Shop Message" tab.
- Conversation in the "Instant Message" tab.
- Conversation in the "Post Message" tab.
- Chat box initiated from the "Post Message" tab or the "Message management" tab within the livestream and Social Post Selling backstage.
- Ask AI Assistant a question.
