With the POS app, merchants can add discounts (Custom, % price, and Cash) to the entire order or selected products. This article will cover % price and cash discounts. For more details on the custom discount, please refer to Custom Discount | POS Admin.

1. Add % price discount
When checking out with the POS app, you can add a % price discount to the order or products (e.g., 35% off for the entire order or 35% off just for selected products).
i. Add a % price discount to the entire order
Step 1
After adding products to the cart, tap the + button on the right of the "Add Discount." In the pop-up window, select % price as the discount type. Then, insert the discount name and the amount of % price discount.
Step 2
Tap Done and the "Discount Name" will appear under the subtotal in the cart. You can also tap on the discount name to open the discount setting.
ii. Add a % price discount to selected products
Step 1
Tap the product in the cart, and select % price in the pop-up window. Then, insert the discount name and the amount of the % price discount.
Step 2
Tap Done, and the discount name, along with the discounted price, will appear in the cart.

ii. Add a % price discount to selected products
Step 1
Tap the product in the cart, and select % OFF in the pop-up window. Then, insert the discount name and the amount of the % OFF discount.

Tap Done. The discount name and discounted price will appear in the cart.
2. Add cash discount
You can enter the discount amount directly for the product or order. For example, $19 off for the entire order or selected products.
i. Add a cash discount to the entire order
Step 1
After adding products to the cart, tap the + button on the right of the "Add Discount." In the pop-up window, select Cash as the discount type. Then, insert the discount name and the amount of the cash discount.
Step 2
Tap Done and the discount name will appear under the subtotal in the cart. You can also tap on the discount name to open the discount setting.

3. Display custom discount information on the receipt
The custom discount name and discount amount will be displayed on the receipt for customers to view the promotions applied and the amounts saved.
i. Example: Thermal receipt
- Product 3. Matcha Green Soap: Displays custom discount name "Staff Discount" and deducted amount $75.
ii. Example: E-receipt
- Matcha Green Soap: Labeled as "Custom Discount". Displays the name of the custom discount.
- Displays the name of the custom discount and the respective deducted amount in SUBTOTAL.
iii. Example: Product details page in Admin
- Savon visage à la lanoline: Labeled as Custom Discount.
- Displays the name of the custom discount and the respective deducted amount in subtotal.
4. Notes

If you have applied "Add discount" to a product, this discount will be deleted once you tap on Apply Promotion.

- Once a promotion is applied to the order or any product, You cannot "Add Discount" to the products. The feature will be grayed out and not tappable, as illustrated below:
