In this article, you'll find:
1. Feature introduction
Merchants can create different promotional campaigns as incentives to attract orders.
SHOPLINE's Free Gift feature enables you to set different free gift conditions (e.g.: Free gift with purchase over the required amount; free gift with purchase over required items; membership free gift, buy product A and get product B for free).
After you have finished setting up Free Gift conditions in the Admin, customers can receive a free gift once they fulfill the predefined criteria upon checkout. You can also check related free gift details on the Orders page, Stock Picking List, Packing Slip, Order Invoice, and Order Report.
*Remarks
- In case the free gift or the related promotion is unpublished, or insufficient inventory, customers will not be able to receive free gifts.
- When you are setting up a free gift promotion, please check that the number of times the promotion can be used must not exceed the quantity of the stock.
- Please do not set up the same condition (over... items/amount) in one promotion.
- The calculation of "Free Gift with Purchase over Required Amount/ Items" is as follows:
- Over Required Amount: Main Products + Add-on items subtotal after deducting other promotion discounts (excluding store credits)
- Over Required Items: Excludes the quantity of add-on items
Stackable: Get A for free for orders over 1000;
get A+B for orders over 2000;
get A+B+C for orders over 3000.
Please create three separate free gift promotions.
Set the first promotion to send a gift A when the amount is over 1000,
followed by giving gift B when the amount is over 2000
for the second promotion; and giving gift C
when the amount is over 3000 for the third promotion.
Non-stackable: Get A for free for 1000; get B for 2000;
get C for 3000
Please create a free gift promotion,
and add the gift items for each purchase condition by
adding the benefits and condition tiers.
2. Steps to set up
Step 1. Set up products as free gift
In the SHOPLINE Admin Panel, go to [Products and Categories] > [Free Gifts].
Click Add or Edit to set up the name, image, inventory, and other information of the free gift.
You can publish, unpublish or delete free gifts in the free gift list.
Step 2. Create a campaign
Go to [Promotions & Reward] > [Promotions]. Click Add to add a new promotion. Please refer to the articles below for setting up a free gift promotion. Select Free Gift in "2. Set Benefit type."
[Coming soon] You can also set the free gift promotion to be stackable. Once you turn on this setting, the system will automatically combine multiple promotions as long as the order is eligible for the promotion. If you turn off the setting, the promotion will not be automatically stacked. Orders that meet the purchase condition can only apply the promotion once.

Click Select to select the product for the Free Gift promotion at the pop-up window. You can see the image, name, SKU, and inventory of the selected free gift. The "Discount Summary" will automatically show your free gift promotion details.

Customers will be able to see the free gift(s) they will receive on the product list, the promotion list, and in their shopping carts.
Merchants can notify customers about the free gift promotion and corresponding rules on the product page. Alternatively, you can create a marketing page from Advanced Page builder.
* The following is a sequence diagram for the application of promotions. The promotions will be applied from top to bottom, except those related to gifts, which can be applied in a stack. As for the rest of the promotions, only one will be applied per row.
