For merchants transferring platforms, you can use the "Manually create review" feature to manually enter product reviews, or use the template to bulk import past reviews, moving your existing genuine reviews to your new store.
⚠️ Before you begin, please note: This article covers the "Manually create review" feature. For information on other product review features, please refer to this article.
In this article, you’ll find:
1. Activate feature
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Apps] > [App Store] and install the "Manually-created and imported reviews" application.
*Note: Merchants using the "e-Commerce" system already have this feature available on the product reviews page, with no installation needed.
2. Create reviews
Step 1
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products & Categories] > [Product Reviews]. You will see the list of previous reviews, including customer comments, comment images, comment time, and the order number. Then click on the Create review button at the top-right corner.
Step 2
On the "Create Review" page, you will see the list of all the products and basic information. You can use the filter on the left to choose the product you would like to add comments to. Then click on the triangle button and select Manually create review.
Step 3
Fill in the review details, such as customer name, rating, and date. Once completed, click Save to save the settings.
*Note: After adding a review, it may take 30 to 60 minutes for the review to appear on the product details page.
- Name (required): The customer's name.
- Rating (required): The rating is defaulted to 5 stars and can be modified.
- Review content (required): Review content does not support displaying emojis and is limited to 2,000 characters.
- Date (required): Merchants must select the date of the review, and only dates in the past can be selected.
- Upload image (optional): Merchants can upload product review images here, with a maximum of 9 images per product.
3. Bulk import manually-created reviews
Merchants can use this feature to bulk import manually-created product reviews. You can import multiple reviews for a single product.
Step 1
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products & Categories] > [Product Reviews] and click Create review. Then click Download template for bulk importing reviews.
Step 2
Open the file and fill in the information as instructed.
- Name (required): The customer's name.
- Rating (required): Enter an integer from 1 to 5. Numbers will be rounded to the nearest whole number if not an integer. Invalid content will default to 5.
- Review content (required): Review content does not support displaying emojis and is limited to 600 characters.
- Review time (required): Format: YYYY/MM/DD
- Review image URL (optional): You can upload 9 images at most. Each URL has to be separated by a line break (by clicking Alt+Enter).
You don't have to delete the example row after finishing the content. Save it and upload it later in the next step.
Step 3
On the "Create Review" page, you will see the list of all the products and basic information. You can use the filter on the left to choose the product you would like to add comments to. Then click on Bulk import reviews and upload the file you have edited just now.
*Notes:
- Only the xls. and xlsx. formats are supported.
- Each file can contain up to 5,000 reviews.
- The file size must be less than 3MB.
Step 4
You can click Process of bulk import or go to [Report & Analytics] > [Bulk Action Process] to check the bulk action progress.
*Notes:
- The system is updated every minute. If the progress bar shows that the review is still uploading, but the review has already been successfully uploaded, this is normal. Please confirm that the review is visible on the product page.
- After adding a review, it may take 30 to 60 minutes for the review to appear on the product details page.
If the import fails, download the failure report to view the reason for the error.
4. Manage reviews
Go to the "Create review" page, you can see the number of reviews added in Admin under "No. of Manually-Created Reviews". Click on Product Review Management on the right to re-edit the reviews (both from manually-created and bulk imported).
*Note: After creating a review, the update will take 30 to 60 minutes. Please check the latest number of manually-created reviews later.
Select the reviews you want to publish/unpublish/delete, then click Edit to start editing.
