What are your best sellers? Which products are not performing well? Whether you are observing your daily selling figures or evaluating your product portfolio each quarter, you can keep track of your product sales through the Shoplytics Product Sales Analysis and adjust your product portfolio accordingly to boost revenue.

*Note: The metrics below include general products, product sets, and add-ons. The product sets are counted in sets, e.g., Product Set A has 3 child products, and the "Total Product Sold" of Product Set A is counted as 1.

This article will cover the following:

1. Product Performance: Product Analysis

In the  SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Report & Analytics] > [Shoplytics] > [Products] > [Product Sales Analysis]. Click the drop-down menu and select Product Analysis to view the overall product sales.

1.png

The system will sort the products according to sales volume; the popular products will be at the front. To look up the performance of a specific product, enter the Product Name / SKU / Barcode into the search bar.

*Note: Search product sets by the product name and barcode; search add-ons by the product name and SKU.

i. Omni-Channel

2.png

*Remark: In the "Omni-Channel" tab, the unit selling price and unit product cost are not displayed.

ii. Online Store

3.png

*Remark: In the "Online Store" tab, the unit price shows the Sale Price or Regular Price (remaining original variations).

iii. Retail Store

4.png

*RemarkThe display order of Retail Store's Unit Price is as follows: Retail Store Price > Sale Price > Regular Price

In the "Retail Store" tab, Unit Price currently does not support displaying Store-specific Price of different stores. If the retail store price is set, the unit price gives priority to the retail store price. The special or original price will be displayed if there is no retail store price.

iv. Display Product Variants

Check the "Show Variant" box to show sales figures at the variant level. If one of the variants has no sales figure, it will not show.

If the "Show Variant" option is selected, and "deleted variants" appear in the variant column, it indicates that within the selected period, those variants were sold but have since been deleted.

*Remark: Product sets currently do not show product variants.

5.png

v. Filter conditions: Supplier, Category

In the "Omni Channel" tab, click the "Supplier" drop-down menu to filter for which product you want to view performance for.

6.png

In the "Online Store" and "Retail Store" tabs, you can filter through "Supplier" and "Category" to look up product performance. The "Category" filter allows you to filter from the main category to subcategories and third-layer category. After selecting the categories, click Confirm.

7.png

*Notes:

  • The Supplier column with filter conditions is only available to merchants using the Retail POS Plan.

  • If you have selected the "Category" and "Supplier" filter conditions, the product sales performance list, the "Category" and "Supplier" columns will automatically display. After removing the filter conditions, the columns will disappear altogether if you do not check the "Category" or "Supplier" columns.
  • If you select multiple filter conditions in "Category" or "Supplier," the product that meets one of the filters will be displayed in the list of product sales performance. If you select filter conditions from both "Category" and "Supplier," products must fully meet these two conditions to be displayed in the list of product sales performance. For example, if the filter condition is set to "Category: Food," "Supplier: Flour Supplier, Fruit Supplier," the product must be food, and the supplier must be either a flour supplier or fruit supplier to be displayed in the list.

8.png

vi. Data summary

The total and average data will be displayed in the product sales list. If you select the "Category" and "Supplier" filter conditions, the system will only add up and average the product data that meet the filter criteria.
*Note: Product sales performance reports will also display the total/ average fields.

2. Product Performance: Category Analysis

In the "Online Store" and "Retail Store" tabs, apart from the sales performance of products and variants, you may turn to the "Category Analysis" mode to see how the category performed.

10.png

*Notes:

  • If the product category has been changed, the system will only count the category sales based on the recent product categorization despite the analysis period selected. Products that do not belong to any of the categories will be attributed to the "Uncategorized Products(s)" field.
  • Adding "Category" and "Supplier" filter conditions during “Category” mode is currently not supported.
  • If you want to search for categories, please search by the main category. Sub-categories or third-layer categories will not be shown in the search result.
  • When searching in the search bar, you can search by the name of the main category, subcategory or third-level category.
  • Since a product can be categorized into multiple categories, to avoid double counting, the data for the main category will be calculated based on unique products.
  • If a product is categorized into a main category but its subcategory isn't checked, its data will be classified as "Others of Main Category." If a product is categorized into a main category and subcategory but its third-level category isn't checked, its data will be classified as "Others of Sub Category."

6. FAQs

i. Why can't I find a certain product/ category when I perform a search?

To search for products, please enter the  "Product name, SKU, or Barcode." To search for categories, please enter the main category name, subcategory name and third-layer category name. If you cannot find the product or category, it is possible that the product or category has been deleted or the keyword is not found. In this case, try other keywords.

ii. Why is the sum revenue of all categories different from the total revenue on other pages?

If you are running an online store, please be noted that a product may belong to multiple categories according to your settings. To avoid double counting product data, only unique product performance will be calculated. Therefore, adding up the sales numbers of all products may differ from the total revenue on other pages.
