3. How to use Share-cart-link
We will respectively introduce the notices and the operation procedures of using Share-cart-link whether or not with Affiliate Code.
Use Share-cart-link without Affiliate Code
People who share the link should do:
- Go to the storefront.
- Choose some products and add them to the shopping cart.
- Click the Share button to copy the Share-cart-link.
- Share the link with others.
People who receive the link should do:
Click the link they received, go to the shopping cart page where the products have been added to the cart, then proceed to checkout.
Notes:
- If the promotion that shopping-cart-link applied is member-only and the person who receives the link isn’t a member, the person will not entitle to the same coupon.
- (As the above picture show, he won’t entitle to get 5% off on the Entire Order because the person who receives the link isn’t the member. )
- All the product prices, information, and status, such as unpublished and out-of-stock, will be determined by the status of the shopping cart at the moment the person who receives the link clicks.
- (e.g. If the product status is out-of-stock at the moment the person who receives the link clicks, he will not be able to buy the product.)
- If there are some products in the shopping cart in the browser that the person who receives the link uses, the products of the link will be ADD to the cart, NOT REPLACE the original products.
- As noted above, if there have been the same products as the Share-cart-link, the amount of these products will keep the original one.
- If the person who receives the link clicks the same link again, and opens it in the same browser and the same device, the amount of these products will double. (As shown in the following images)
⬆Click the link for the first time, the amount of the product is "one".
⬆Click the link again, the amount of the product is added to "two".
Use Share-cart-link with Affiliate Code
*Note: Please create an affiliate campaign in the store Admin before using the affiliate code. Please refer to this article for more details.
People who share the link should do:
- Go to the storefront.
- Choose the products and add them to the shopping cart.
- Click the Apply An Affiliate Code button in the lower right corner of the page.
- Enter the affiliate code and apply it. (The system will apply the affiliate code to the Share-cart-link automatically.)
- Click the Share button to copy the Share-cart link with the affiliate code.
- Share the link with others.
People who receive the link should do:
Click the link they received, then go to the shopping cart page where the products have been added to the cart, then proceed to checkout.
Notes:
- All the notice on the part of "Use Share-cart-link without Affiliate Code” will be applied here.
- If there has been a promotion for the Affiliate Code, the person who receives the Share-cart link will entitle to the same coupon when he clicks the link.
- When the person who receives the Share-cart-link clicks the link with Affiliate Code, the system will also record the Affiliate Code of the order automatically.
- Merchants can go to [Sales & Promotions] > [Affiliate Campaign], click "Usage Record" or Export Usage Record Report to check the Affiliate Campaign performance.
- If the person who receives the Share-cart link shares the link with others, the link will be with the same Affiliate Code. That is, although the link was shared many times, merchants can still trace back to the source via Affiliate Code.
- If the person who receives the Share-cart-link clears the original Affiliate Code and adds a new affiliate code, the system will apply the newest Affiliate Code to the Share-cart-link by copying the link.
