SHOPLINE has launched the "WhatsApp Order Form" feature, which allows you to send WhatsApp messages containing product links through the Message Center. Customers can click the link to browse the products, place an order, and complete the checkout, thereby promoting business growth.
This article will cover the following:
*Before you start, please confirm that your store has successfully integrated with the WhatsApp Business account. For more information please refer to this article.
1. How to create a WhatsApp order form
Step 1
Proceed to SHOPLINE Admin > [Social Commerce] > [Message Center] > [Instant Message], and click on any WhatsApp message.
Step 2
Click the "Order forms" icon at the bottom of the conversation window, and select + Create order form.
Step 3
Complete the order form setup.
1. Title
Enter an order form title with a maximum of 30 characters.
2. Set publish status
- Enable Publish Status: This order form can be shared, browsed, and used.
- Disable Publish Status: This order form cannot be shared, browsed, or used.
3. Product
Click the Select Products button to select the products to be displayed in the order form.
Check the boxes of the products to be added, or bulk select by choosing product categories.
Once completed, click Add Product to continue.
*Available quantity: The actual product quantity available for sale (a.k.a current inventory). If the "Preorder" feature is enabled, the available quantity will be the current inventory + preorder limit. For more details, please refer to the following FAQ.
Step 4
Upon confirmation, click Save.
In the "Order forms" pop-up window, you will see the order form you have just created.
Click the "..." icon on the right to edit or delete this order form.
*Note:
- Currently supports up to a maximum of 50 order forms.
- Each order form currently supports a maximum of 30 products.
- Suppose you disconnect the WhatsApp Business Account after creating the product list and reconnect to another new account. In that case, the previously created order form will not be available to use in the Message Center, and you will need to create a new order form.
2. Send order form link
Step 1
Click on the WhatsApp message you want to send the order form to, and directly click on the "Order forms" icon.
This order form will be added to the conversation window with the customer, where you can enter other relevant text.
Step 2
Click Send.
The order form link will then be sent.
*Note: The "Check out our products to see what we offer" is a default text that cannot be removed.
If you have other texts to include, please split the message in two to send.
3. Customer view
The customer receives your order form on their WhatsApp.
Customers can click on the image or the "cart" icon to open the product detail page.
Select the product variation (if any) and the quantity. Then, click the Add to cart button.
*Note: If the selected product quantity exceeds the available quantity (Current inventory + Preorder limit), a reminder prompt will appear.
Customers can take the following actions in the order form:
1. Go straight to the checkout page
Click the "cart" icon or the "Checkout" button on the bottom to proceed to checkout.
Upon confirmation, click Checkout.
*Note: If the customer clicks on multiple order forms using the same browser, products added from different order forms will be displayed on the same shopping cart.
The page will be directed to the checkout page, and it will display the product added from the order forms.
Then, fill in the relevant buyer's information to complete the checkout.
2. Select products and click Contact to order
Click the Contact to order button.
The page will be directed to the WhatsApp interface. Click Message.
The system will automatically add the selected product and its quantity to the conversation.
The customer can directly hit send and you will be able to place an order for the customer according to what was sent in the message.
4. Commonly asked questions
Q1: Can order form links can be shared on other platforms?
A1: Yes, similar to any website links, order form links can be shared with customers according to their needs.
Q2: If the order form is set as "Unpublished", will the link generated through this order form be affected?
A2: When a customer clicks on an "Unpublished" order form link, the page will return with "The URL of this Order Form Page is no longer valid, please contact the merchant directly".
If you republish this order form later, the customer will be able to access the order form normally.
