Besides completing customers' checkout and viewing other stores' inventory, the POS app can also set up the shift status for each staff member. This article will guide you on how to perform staff clocking in/out with the POS app.

In this article, you'll find:

1. How to clock in/out

In the POS app, go to [Employee] and tap Clock-in/out. Select the employee to clock in or out. Enter the employee's password to change their shift status.

*Notes:

  • To set an employee’s clock-in/out status, you must enter the unique password assigned to the employee. This password must be configured in advance when adding the employee in the SHOPLINE Admin. For more information, please refer to Employee Management | POS Admin.
  • The clock-in/out page only displays the employees working in the current store. To adjust employee-related settings, please go to SHOPLINE Admin > [Retail Store] > [Employee]. For more information, please refer to Employee Management | POS Admin.

2. Clock-in/out failures

If the internet connection is unstable, the clock-in record may fail to upload to the SHOPLINE Admin. In this case, the attendance record status will display "Failed". However, the system will still save the clock-in record locally and attempt to re-upload it once the connection is restored. When the status changes to "Uploaded", it means the clock-in has been successfully recorded.

After the connection is restored, you can tap Reupload, and the POS App will upload all pending records. Once the record status changes to Uploaded, it indicates that the clock-in record has been successfully synced to the SHOPLINE Admin.

3. Notes

  • Employees in the "Off shift" status will not appear in the "Sales" selection during the POS App checkout process.
  • To view attendance records or to add/delete employees, please proceed to the SHOPLINE Admin.
  • The POS App supports clocking in/out while offline. Attendance records will be synced to the Admin once the POS App reconnects to the internet.
  • If an employee forgets to clock out, the system will still log the clock-in record, but no working hours will be counted. Clocking out is required in order to edit the working hours for that session in the Admin.
