*The D3 Mini Cashier only supports Android v1.43.0 or later versions. 

*Currently, only the 80mm version is supported.

The Android SHOPLINE POS system is integrated with SUNMI D3 mini cashier, an all-in-one device with both the touch screen panel and built-in receipt printer. Please refer to the following steps for installation. 

In this article, you'll find:

 

1. Basic setup

Step 1. Power on 

Connect to the power supply and press the power button to turn on the device.

  • Device is off: press to boot up.
  • Device is on: press and hold for 2 to 3 seconds to power off or reboot.
  • Device crashes: press and hold for 11 seconds to power off.

Step 2. Install fixators 

Follow the instructions and directions indicated below.

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Take two roll fixators and install them into the device following the directions.

Step 3. Install paper roll

Follow the instructions and directions indicated below.

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Load the 60x80mm or 60x58mm thermal paper roll and close the printer.

*Note: Please make sure the thermal paper size is the same as that on the POS app (i.e. 60x58 on both POS app and D3 Mini Cashier). Improper setup might cause misalignment or formatting issues during printing. You can go to 6. Receipt size settings for more information.

Step 4. Devices connection 

Connecting the barcode scanner

Connect the 2D Scanner's USB cable to any of the USB slots on D3 Mini. 

On D3 Mini, go to [Settings] and tap Scan code and keyboard.

*Note: Please refer to the FAQ for SUNMI 2D Barcode Scanner for setting up the barcode scanner.

Connecting the cash drawer 

Connect the cable of the Mini cash drawer directly to the cash box port of D2 Mini.

 

 

2. Internet connection

The D3 Mini can be connected to the Internet through Wi-Fi.

On D3 Mini, go to [Settings] > [Network & internet]. Wait for its searching and listing available WLAN hotspots.
Tap the WLAN to be connected. If an encrypted network is selected, you are required to enter the access password to get connected.

3. Scanner connection

To connect the SUNMI 2D Barcode Scanner, go to [Settings] > [System] > [Scanner and keyboard]. Connect the scanner with the D3 Mini Cashier.

4. Set up SHOPLINE POS app

In order to use the POS system, merchants need to download and install the SHOPLINE POS app.

Step 1

Tap App Store on D3 Mini.

*Note: Please find Sunmi's App Store instead of Google Play.

Step 2

Tap the search bar on the top right and enter "SHOPLINE POS".

Step 3

Tap Install and wait for the installation to complete.

Step 4

Once the installation is done, open the SHOPLINE POS app.
*Note: When you open the SHOPLINE POS app for the first time, please allow the POS app to access locations and photos & videos. If you reject access at this part, some features might be unavailable during app use. You can also allow access by going to [Settings] > [Apps] > [SHOPLINE POS] > [App Permissions].

Step 5

Log in with the owner account or the staff account, then start using the POS app.

On the POS app, go to the Setting tab and tap Receipt. Switch on the toggle for enabling the receipt function.

5. Customer screen setup

To use the customer screen, please go to D3 Mini Cashier > [Settings] > [Customer Display and NFC Settings].

 

Switch on the toggle for "Customer Display". If you allow your customer to scroll up/down the screen, you can also switch on the toggle for "Touch Function”.

 

Display on customer screen

If you haven’t added any product in the shopping cart, or you are not on the [Checkout] page, the customer screen will only display the name of your store.

When you add a product to the cart, the customer screen will display the following:

  • Product name
  • Variation
  • Quantity (to be purchased)
  • Product price
    • Membership Tier Price > Member Price > Store-Specific Price > Retail Store Price > Sale Price > Regular Price

  • Total discount amount
    • Only displays the total discount amount of all applied promotions 
    • Includes auto-applied order-level, category-level, and product-level promotions
  • Coupon 
    • Displays the name and discount amount of each applied coupon
  • Custom discount
    • Displays the name and discount amount of each custom discount

  • Tax
  • Store credits
  • Member points 
  • Rounding

  • Payment fee
  • Quantity
  • Total

 

 

6. Receipt size settings

Make sure the receipt size settings are the same on the D3 Mini Cashier and the POS app.

A. On D3 Mini Cashier

On the D3 Mini Cashier, go to [Settings] > [SunmiPrinter] > [Sunmi Inner Printer] > [Paper Sepc]. Then choose the paper size.

 

B. On POS app

On the POS app, go to [Setting] > [Receipt]. Then, choose the paper size.

7. Thermal paper troubleshooting

A. What to do when the printer is not responding?

Restart the printer. Press and hold the power button for 11 seconds until the printer is off. Then press the ON button to switch it on again.

 

B. What should I do when the printed paper is printing blank?

Check whether the paper roll is inserted upside down or is in the wrong model.

 

C. What to do when the printer is not printing properly?

Check if the printer cover is closed correctly or if the paper is jammed.

 

D. Paper jam removal

When a paper jam occurs, please do not pull the paper by force as it may cause product damage. Remove all the ripped paper and make sure no paper remains are left behind. Another paper jam might occur if the paper remains are not completely removed.

Please contact the Online Merchant Success Team if merchants are still unable to remove the jammed paper.

Tips to avoid paper jams

  1. When loading the paper rolls, please pull the ends of the paper roll smooth and gently. 
  2. Do not touch the paper when it is printing, exiting the printing slot or before it has been trimmed. 

 

E. What should I do if the printing the blurred?

Check whether the thermal printhead is dirty. If so, clean the printhead by dipping a cotton swab in alcohol (ethanol, methanol, or isopropanol) and wipe the thermal print head to remove any black powder. Remove any debris, dust, and powder regularly. 

 

 

8. Notes

  • The D3 mini cashier has a dynamic identifier for vendors (IDFV), which is essential for our technical support team to locate your cashier during troubleshooting. To find the IDFV for any issue-related requirements, please go to the POS app > [Settings] > [Database] > "Identifier for vendor" and copy the identifier.idfv.png
  • Please allow the SHOPLINE POS app to access "Nearby devices" and "Photos and videos" on your cashier in order to enable all features.
  • The customer screen is currently unavailable. Please go to [Settings] > [Customer Display and NFC Settings] and switch off the toggle.
  • The NFC reader is currently unavailable.
  • The built-in camera is currently unavailable. Please use the SUNMI 2D Barcode Scanner for scanning.
  • The POS app currently only supports the installation of 60x80mm paper rolls.
  • The D3 mini 80mm version does NOT support battery installation and must remain plugged in during use.
