Products created in SHOPLINE Admin will appear both on a merchant's online store and all POS app retail stores simultaneously, to make integrating product information on all channels hassle-free. 

All product information created in the Admin is the information of online store products, only basic product information will be synchronized on the retail store POS app. At present, the product information synchronized between the online store and the retail store includes the main image, name, category, price, and variations.

 

In this article. you'll find:

You will first need to add some products in SHOPLINE Admin if you have not already done so. Go to [Products & Categories] > [Products] then click Add. Below is an overview of product settings for SHOPLINE Admin and POS app.

 

1. Product main image settings

In SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products and Categories] > [Products]. Under the "Image" tab, you will find the "Product Photos (Main)" section. You can either drag and drop image files into the Main Picture section, or use the "Add Photo" or "From Gallery" buttons. Each product can have a maximum of 12 main pictures.

The uploaded picture will be displayed on the POS app product page.

*Note: The POS app will only display the product's first main image.

2. Product name setting

In SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products and Categories] > [Products]. Select a product then go to [Info]

If both Chinese and English product names are entered at the same time, the POS app will only display the product name entered into the English field.

The product name will be displayed at the top of the product information page on the POS app.

3. Product category settings

In the product editing page, go to [Categories] > [POS] to choose the POS Category for the product.  

To add a POS category or move products to a category in bulk, please check POS Category.

*Note: A product can only be added to one product category. It cannot be added to multiple POS product categories.

The category of the product can be confirmed by selecting the category from the expanded menu of the "All Products" option at the checkout page.

4. Product price setting

In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products & Categories] > [Products]. Select a product and go to the "Quantity & Pricing" tab. You can enter Regular Price, Sale Price, Retail Store Price, and [Coming Soon] Store-Specific Price for each product.

*Notes:

  • Retail Store Price is only available for merchants using both e-Commerce + Retail POS plans.
  • [Coming Soon] Store-Specific Price is only available for merchants using the Retail POS plan, and merchants must switch on the "Set Store-Specific Prices for products" toggle in the Product Detail Page. For more information, please refer to [Coming Soon] Store-Specific Price|POS Admin.

For Merchants using the Retail POS plan, the product price display order on the POS app is as follows: [Coming Soon] Store-specific Price > Sale Price > Regular Price. When a price for the previous rank is not set, the next-ranked price will be displayed, and so on.

For merchants using both e-Commerce + Retail POS plans, the product price display order on the POS app is as follows: [Coming Soon] Store-Specific Price > Retail Store Price > Sale Price > Regular Price. When a price for the previous rank is not set, the next-ranked price will be displayed, and so on.

 

The product price is shown at the bottom right of the product information window on the POS app.

5. Product Variations, SKU and inventory quantity settings

In SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products & Categories] > [Products]. Select a product and go to the "Variations" tab on the product details page. The following fields from the Variations tab will be displayed on the POS app: Variant/Option, SKU, stock levels.

POS app product information is a list of all variations of the product on the left, and the corresponding variations, inventory quantity, and product SKU are at the bottom right.

*Notes: 

  • If the Regular price and Sale price are set for a product at the same time, the POS app will display the Sale Price.
  • The product cost is only visible in the SHOPLINE Admin. It will not be visible either in your online store or on the POS app. 
  • The "Quantity" field on the product details page in SHOPLINE Admin only records the inventory quantity of the online store. (If your online store shares inventory with the retail store, the inventory will be updated on the POS app store inventory simultaneously). The inventory of other stores can be adjusted manually on the "Inventory Page".

 

 

6. Product barcode settings

In SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Products & Categories] > [Products]. Select a product and go to the "Product Feed Data" tab to set the barcode number of each product variation here. 11.png

For example, on the POS app product page, click the "Tropical Fresh" variations on the left, and you can see that the corresponding barcode is "51924300".
