The SHOPLINE Model Context Protocol (MCP) connects your storefront to an AI agent, allowing you to manage daily operations entirely through conversation. This integration improves operational efficiency by allowing you to instantly check order statuses, update product information, and create promotional campaigns with simple chat commands.
*Note: This feature is only available to merchants with the "OpenAPI" feature, including merchants on the "All in one (全通路領航員)" plan or those who have purchased the OpenAPI add-on.
In this article, you'll find:
1. Setup
Before you begin: Set up MCP permissions in SHOPLINE Admin
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Settings] > [Permission & Security], and click Add or Edit next to a staff account's permissions. Go to the [API Auth] tab, enable the "MCP Permission" toggle, select the permissions you need, and click Update.
MCP FAQ
|
Q1: Can I enable MCP permissions for the "Store Owner" account? A1: No. The "Store Owner" account does not support configuring "MCP Permission". To use MCP, please create a separate "Staff" account for this setup. *Note: In SHOPLINE's permission design, the "Store Owner" acts as the primary administrator with the highest level of access, capable of managing all staff permissions. For security reasons, to prevent granting this highest level of access to an AI, the Store Owner account does not support enabling API/MCP permissions. |
|
Q2: How can I identify which actions were performed by AI in the Admin panel? A2: If you want to identify in the Admin's activity log whether an AI agent acted, we recommend creating a separate staff account for each employee's AI agent and using that account to complete authorization. |
|
Q3: If I select "Give full access", will the AI be able to use all features? A3: No. MCP uses the same permission settings as OpenAPI. However, MCP is specifically designed to expose a limited set of capabilities, so an AI agent may still be unable to use a feature through MCP even if the corresponding OpenAPI permission is enabled. |
Once you've confirmed the permissions, you're ready to connect. The following sections walk through the connection steps for Grok, Claude, and Codex. For more details, please refer to the SHOPLINE MCP Guide.

2. Supported features
SHOPLINE MCP currently supports the following features:
- Look up store data such as orders, products, inventory, customers, and promotion campaigns.
- Look up the list of customers who have claimed a coupon.
- Create customer tags.
- Create promotion campaigns (Note).
- Send coupons.
- Look up SHOPLINE FAQ, Open API, and Developer Center documentation.
*Notes:
- Currently, only "Promotions" and "Free Shipping" type promotion campaigns are supported.
- When creating a promotion campaign via MCP, the following settings must be completed manually by a staff member — for permission management purposes, to prevent a misconfigured AI agent from affecting store operations:
- Payment and shipping methods: These are left blank by default. Please confirm the campaign details in the SHOPLINE Admin, then complete the payment and shipping settings.
- Campaign status: This defaults to not published. Please confirm the campaign details in the SHOPLINE Admin, then publish it manually.
3. How to use the AI agent & SHOPLINE MCP
You can enter a command in the AI agent to have it complete an action for you through the MCP tools. The following example uses "filtering a customer list, creating a promotion campaign, and sending a coupon" to show how it works.
Step 1
Enter the following prompt in the AI agent: Find me the list of customers who haven't purchased on 2026/1/1 and 2026/7/10, and use SHOPLINE MCP to directly create a hidden, limited-quantity bonus coupon campaign (campaign details) in the Admin. Once I've confirmed the list looks good, send this hidden bonus coupon to that customer list.

4. Notes
- To switch stores, you can enter a command directly in the AI agent to switch stores, or disconnect and reconnect. Switching stores requires completing store authorization again.
- Connecting via Manus is prone to interruptions, so it isn't recommended.
- If you're using a Claude Team or Enterprise account, please check with your account admin to confirm that the [Claude] > [Connector] permission is enabled for your account.
