2. How to apply for a D-U-N-S number
A D-U-N-S Number (Data Universal Numbering System) is a unique nine-digit global identifier for businesses. Apple uses the D-U-N-S Number to verify business information, so you must provide this number when applying for a company or organization account.
If your company does not have a D-U-N-S Number, you can apply for one free of charge by following the steps below.
Step 1. Look up your organization
Go to the D-U-N-S Number website and click look up your organization under Requesting a D-U-N-S Number.
If your company already has a D-U-N-S Number, you can use it directly. If not, you can continue applying for a new number.
Step 2. Enter your application information
Sign in with your Apple Account and enter your company information.
*Note:
- Enter the application information using Romanized characters.
- The English name must exactly match the name on your passport.
- For store addresses in Taiwan, refer to the English address format provided by Chunghwa Post.
- For the email address used for business purposes, enter a company-specific domain email address. Free public email services such as Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo are not supported.
Step 3. Confirm your information and submit
Click Continue. The following screen will appear, indicating that your company has not previously applied for a D-U-N-S Number.
Select the checkbox to confirm the terms, then click Submit.
Step 4. Wait for the confirmation email
After submitting your application, Dun & Bradstreet will send you an email confirming that your application has been received. This email does not mean that your application has been approved.
Dun & Bradstreet may contact you by phone to verify your company information. After the information has been verified, you will receive a notification that your D-U-N-S Number has been issued. Once you receive your D-U-N-S Number, you can proceed to the next step: Create and Authorize an Apple Developer Account.
