When adding a new product to your store for the POS app, clicking on [Please add product variant] at that time, you will be able to see the product variants already created in SHOPLINE Admin. This article will guide you to create and edit variation settings. 

*Please note: These variants are for use in a Retail Store/POS Retail Store, and are separate from products variants created for use in an EC store.

In this article, you'll find:

 

1. Permission setting

To grant staff members access permission to variation settings, go to [Settings] > [Permission & Security] and go to the editing page of the staff member. Under the "Admin Access Rights" tab, select "POS Variation Settings" under "Retail Store". You can select to grant the permission to view or add/edit the settings.

2. Adding a new product variation  

Step 1. Add a new product variation  

In SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Retail Store] > [Product Variation Settings] to enter the settings page. Click Create to start creating the product variation settings in the pop-up window.

Step 2

Enter the name of the variation and options in the pop-up window.

For example, enter "Size" for variation, and input three options: "L", "M", "S". Press the enter key to input the next option.

*Notes:

  • The name and options are required fields.
  • Click on the X next to an option to remove it. EN3.png
  • Entering a redundant option will trigger a reminder in red.EN4.png

 

Step 3

After you have entered the variation name and options, click Create to save the setting.

3. Editing product variations 

Step 1

Clicking Edit next to a variation entry.

Step 2

In the pop-up window, you can edit the variation name and options. After you have finished making any changes, click Save.

4. Deleting product variations 

A. Delete individually

Method 1

Step 1. Click the arrow next to the "Edit" button, then click Delete in the drop-down menu.

Step 2. In the pop-up window, check the box to confirm your action, then click Delete to delete the variation setting.

Method 2

Step 1. Click Edit next to a variation.

Step 2. Click Delete at the bottom left in the pop-up window.

Step 3. In the pop-up window, check the box to confirm your action, then click Delete to delete the variation setting.

B. Bulk delete

Step 1. Use the checkboxes to select multiple variations, then click Delete

Step 2. In the pop-up window, check the box to confirm your action, then click Delete to delete the variation settings.

5. Apply product variation setting on the POS app

When creating products on the POS app, you can apply the variation settings created in the Admin. The POS app now supports up to 3 variations.

After you select a variation setting, click Next. Then, you can select the options in the variation that you want to add.
