1. How to create Facebook quick answer event
Step 1
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Social Commerce] > [SHOPLINE Live]. Click Create live steam and select Facebook Page. To know more about creating live streams, please read SHOPLINE Live | Integrating Facebook Live.
Step 2
Click Event to create a Facebook livestream event.
In the Event tab, click ⊕ Add.
Step 3
Select Quick Answer.
Step 4
Fill in the event title, quick answer event name (question), event answer, winner quota, and event time. You can also select the prize content for the winner(s). Click Next to proceed to the next step.
*Notes:
- The event title is limited to 128 characters; the event name and event answer is limited to 200 characters. The maximum winner quota is 100.
- The event answer currently only supports text or numbers. It cannot contain any symbols and spaces.
- The customer's answer must be identical to the answer you set. If the customer enters any irrelevant content in front or after the answer text, it will be regarded as incorrect. Therefore, we suggest explaining to customers the rules for entering answers before the event begins.
- For example, the event answer is set "10Oct". Customers must enter "10Oct" for the correct answer. Comments like "must be 10Oct", "should be 10Oct" are regarded as incorrect.
- If the event answer is set in English, the customer's comment is not case-sensitive.
- For example, the event answer is set as "NO." Customer's answers like "No," "no," or "NO" are all considered correct.
Set up the prize
In the "prize" section, you can set the winner's prize content. Click Next after the setup.
- Click select product to select the existing products for the prize.
For example, give out a super-limited product as a prize. - Click select gift to select the existing free gift for the prize.
- Click Set discount to enter the discount name and amount for the prize. You can also set up the discount expiration time. Upon completion, the discount will become the lucky draw prize.
Step 5
Customize 4 event messages below according to your needs. Each message must be less than 400 characters.
- Event start message
- Event end message
- Draw message
- Winning message
You can apply the dynamic texts to the editing field. For example, click to insert the "Event title" dynamic text; when the system sends this message, it will automatically insert the name you have set for this event.
If you do not edit, the system will send the default message. At last, click Create to successfully create the lucky draw.
*Note: If you offer a discount as the prize, the default draw message will notify the winner that they have won a discount. The winning message will notify the winner that the discount will be applied automatically upon checkout.
Step 6
After creating an event, the event list on the livestream page will show the event(s) that have been created successfully. Click the + icon next to the event title to expand the event details and the event messages to be sent during the event.
You can also click the three-dot button next to the event to edit, copy, or delete the event.
The information listed below will be copied when clicking Copy Activity:
- Event title
- Winner quota
- Event time
- Prize content
- Event message
Merchants can modify the event name and answer for the copied event.
2. Commence Facebook quick answer event
Step 1
After connecting to a Facebook live, click on the GO button on the right of the event title to start the event.
Step 2

- Open effect page: A new page will appear automatically to show the process of the event.
3. Customers comment answers during the livestream

During the livestream, merchants can click the three-dot "More Actions" button next to the event to broadcast the event, open the effect page, or end the event.
Note: Clicking "Terminate activity" directly will not generate event winners.

4. Announce the game result
There are two ways to announce: announcing it manually and announcing it automatically
A. Accounce manually
Announce the winner directly in the live stream
If the number of comments has reached your expectation, click the Announce the winner button to end the event.
Click Confirm in the pop-up window.
The system will announce the correct answer and the winner's information in the livestream.
If you have set a discount as the prize, you can remove the winner's discount manually after the event.
If you set up the discount expiration time, the discount status will become "Expired" after the expiration time.
If all the answers are incorrect, the draw message will not appear.
Announce the winner on the effect page
Click Announce the winner.
Note: This page does not support simultaneous display to the audience. Please record or take a screenshot on your screen.
Click Confirm.
The system will announce the correct answer and the winner's name on the effect page. The winner's information will also be announced in the livestream.
If all the answers are incorrect, the statement "No one answered the right answer" will appear.
The result of the event will be posted on Facebook live using both methods.
At the same time, a winning message will be sent to the winner via Facebook Messager.
If a prize is selected for the event, the shopping cart link will be sent along with the winning message to the winner.
*Notes:
- Currently, you can only enable the Lock Inventory feature if you select products for the prize.
- Customers can checkout successfully even if there are only prizes in their shopping cart.
- If the prize inventory is insufficient, the customer will not be able to checkout.
B. Announce automatically by the system
If the merchant has set an event time, the system will automatically end the activity, and announce the event answer and the winner's name(s) in the livestream when the time is up. Winning messages will be sent to the winners in the same way as the manual method.
*Note: If merchants use cross-broadcasting (multiple posts posted to other Pages), there may be duplicate winners.
Tips: The system judges the winners based on the PSID (Page Scoped ID, Facebook Page user number).
If viewers use the same Facebook account and leave messages on
different Pages, they will all be regarded as different PSIDs.
