Facebook Live | Livestream-Exclusive Price

SHOPLINE releases a livestream-exclusive price feature that allows merchants to set up an exclusive price for the livestream, effectively boosting the livestream views and conversion rates. Customers who add the product through livestream will be eligible for the exclusive price.

⚠️ Note: This feature is currently not available for LINE Live Catalog.

This article will cover the following:

 

1. Setup

Step 1

In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Social Commerce] > [SHOPLINE Live], and enter a livestream.

Step 2

i. Create exclusive price for individual products

Once you have added products to the livestream, click the  ___2023-05-15___4.30.58.png  icon next to each product and select "Create / Edit Exclusive Price."

You can set up an exclusive price and a valid period for the product.

During the valid period, viewers can purchase the product at an exclusive price set up by the merchant.

*Notes:

  • You can set the starting date with the date in the past to enable the exclusive price immediately.
  • You can set the valid period to up to 1 month.

ii. Bulk create exclusive price for multiple products

Once you have added products to the livestream, click More Actions and select "Bulk edit."

Select the product and click the Create / Edit Exclusive Price button.

Set up the exclusive price and valid period for these products.

*Note: If the product has multiple variants, click the "+" button on the left of the product to set up the exclusive price for each variant.

iii. Quick add exclusive price for multiple products

Besides setting up exclusive prices individually, you can also set up the exclusive price and valid period for multiple products at once.

a. Exclusive price

On the "Create / Edit Exclusive Price" pop-up window, select the products and click the Edit Exclusive Price button.

There are two types of exclusive prices you can set:

  • % discount on current price: If you enter 20 for a $200 product, the exclusive price will be $160 (200*0.8).

  • Fix amount discount on current price: If you enter 50 for a $200 product, the exclusive price will be $150 (200-50).

b. Valid period

On the "Create / Edit Exclusive Price" pop-up window, select the products and click Edit Valid Period.

2. Manage livestream-exclusive price 

Go to [Social Commerce] > [SHOPLINE Live] and click the Manage button next to "Livestream-Exclusive Price" section.

You can manage and delete the livestream-exclusive price.

*Notes:

  • Deleting the exclusive price from within the livestream is currently not supported.
  • Bulk edit exclusive price: It will automatically leave out the product that has passed the valid period.
  • Bulk delete exclusive price: Deleting the exclusive price will also end the valid period. Customers who have added products to their cart will not be affected.

3. Customers checkout

Once the above setup is complete, it will display the exclusive price and the valid period in the live products list.

*Notes:

  • Exclusive price is invalid: You can customize the exclusive price and valid period (start/end time).
  • Exclusive price is valid: You can customize the exclusive price and the end time (extend/shorten the valid period).

Customers who add the products within the valid period are eligible to purchase at the exclusive price.

4. Calculation method

  • Livestream-exclusive price only applies to products added through livestream. E.g., the normal price for product A is $100; the exclusive price is $50:
    • Customer 1 adds product A from the storefront; the price will be $100.
    • Customer 2 adds product A through the livestream; the price will be $50.
    • If merchants use the "Edit Cart / Create order" feature in the livestream to add product A for customer C; the price will be $50.

  • Exclusive price takes precedence
    • If a customer has previously added a product with a livestream-exclusive price during a livestream, any subsequent additions of the same product* from the storefront or Social Post Selling will also reflect the exclusive price.
    • Conversely, if a customer has added a product from the storefront or Social Post Selling, adding the same product* with a livestream-exclusive price during the livestream will apply the exclusive price to all instances of that product.
      *The products must be added to the same shopping cart to apply the exclusive price. For example:
        1. Adding products through a livestream and Social Post Selling (using the same social channel and account): The customer must use one Facebook account to add the same product through both a livestream and a Social Post Selling published by the same Facebook Page.
        2. Adding products through a livestream, Social Post Selling, and storefront: The customer must use a Facebook account to add a product during a livestream, then enter the storefront via the checkout link to add the same product again.
        3. Adding a product through a Website Live on the online store, and then adding the same product again through the storefront (online store).

  • Cross-livestream exclusive price:
    • If you set an exclusive price for product A in livestream X and also sell product A in livestream Y, the price for product A in livestream Y will also have an exclusive price.

⚠️ Notes:

  • The valid period only applies to the time when a product is added to the cart to enjoy the exclusive price. If the customer has added a product with an exclusive price to their cart, the product price in the cart will remain unaffected by the valid period.
    • If the customer has added a product with an exclusive price but does not checkout, you can use the clear cart function or unpublish the product to avoid any purchases with unwanted prices.

  • If you edit the exclusive price after customers have added the product to their cart, and they do not add any more products to the cart, the exclusive price in their cart will remain unchanged.
    E.g., If a customer has added a product with an exclusive price of $30, and you later change the exclusive price to $50, the price in the customer's cart will still be $30.

  • If the customer adds products both before and after the exclusive price is adjusted, the valid exclusive price at the time each product is added to the cart will apply.
    E.g., If a customer adds a product with an exclusive price of $30, and then adds the same product again after the exclusive price has been updated to $50, the price for the two products will be $50 ($50*2).

  • If the exclusive price is higher than the current storefront price, the exclusive price will not be valid when the customers leave a keyword order.

 

5. Scenario

Scenario 1

The normal price for product A is $200; the livestream-exclusive price is $100.

The normal price for product B is $300.

  • The exclusive price for livestream X is $150 (Valid period: May 1, 7 am - 8 am).
  • The exclusive price for livestream Y is $200 (Valid period: May 1, 9 am - 10 am).
