Supported Message Formats | Message Center

Customers can send various types of messages via social channels, such as stickers, GIFs, voice messages, etc. This article will introduce the display status of different message formats in Message Center.

This article will cover the following:

 

1. Sticker message

Non-text messages from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and LINE will be displayed differently in the Message Center.

i. Facebook

  • Message Center will display sticker messages sent from Facebook. However, an animated sticker is not supported and will remain frozen.
  • The sticker message will be labelled as a "photo" on the conversation list to the left.

ii. Instagram & Whatsapp

  • Message Center will display sticker messages sent from Instagram and WhatsApp. An animated sticker is supported.
  • The sticker message will be labelled as a "photo" on the conversation list to the left.

iii. LINE

  • Message Center will not display sticker messages sent from LINE.
  • It will display a message of "The customer has sent you a sticker message. This message type currently cannot be viewed."
  • If customers send an Emoji, it will display the emoji name instead.

2. GIF message

i. Facebook & Instagram

  • Message Center will display GIF messages sent from Facebook and Instagram.
  • The GIF message will be labelled as a "photo" on the conversation list to the left.

 

ii. LINE

  • Message Center will display GIF messages from LINE. However, an animated GIF is not supported and will remain frozen.
  • The GIF message will be labelled as a "photo" on the conversation list to the left.

 

iii. WhatsApp

  • Message Center will display GIF messages sent from WhatsApp in a video format.
  • The GIF message will be labelled as a "video" on the conversation list to the left.

3. Voice message

Message Center will display and play voice messages sent from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and LINE.

4. Video message

Message Center will display and play video messages sent from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and LINE.

5. File message

Customers can send file messages from Facebook, WhatsApp, and LINE (not supported by Instagram).

i. Facebook, LINE, and WhatsApp

  • Message Center will display file messages sent from Facebook, WhatsApp, and LINE. A corresponding file format icon will be displayed as well.
  • The file message will be labelled as a "File" on the conversation list to the left.

6. Send contact information

Customers can send contact information from WhatsApp and LINE (not supported by Facebook and Instagram).

i. LINE

  • Message Center will not display contact information sent from LINE.
  • It will not display "This message type currently cannot be viewed" on the conversation list and conversation window.

 

ii. WhatsApp

  • Message Center will not display contact information sent from WhatsApp.
  • It will display a message of "The customer has sent you a contact. This message type currently cannot be viewed."

7. Send the location of a place

Customers can send a location from WhatsApp and LINE (not supported by Facebook and Instagram).

  • Message Center will not display a location sent from WhatsApp and LINE.
  • It will display a message of "The customer has sent you a location. This message type currently cannot be viewed."

8. Share live location

Customers can share their location with you via LINE, WhatsApp, or Instagram, but Message Center does not support displaying real-time location information. LINE and WhatsApp will display "The customer has sent you a message. This message type currently cannot be viewed." Instagram will not display any message.
