Lock Inventory Settings for SHOPLINE LIVE

SC.png

Lock Inventory for SHOPLINE LIVE allows merchants to create a time-limited reservation for orders made during a livestream. Customers only have to add a product to their cart using either Facebook Live or SHOPLINE LIVE and the inventory for that product will be automatically reserved until the deadline set by the merchant. With this feature, customers can keep shopping during the livestream and complete the checkout process at a later time.

1. Lock Inventory Rules

  • Lock Inventory is only available for orders made via SHOPLINE LIVE or Facebook Live during a livestream. It will not reserve products placed in a customer's cart via a store's main website (EC) that the customer has not completed the checkout process for.
  • Products added to a customer's cart via the main website will only be deducted from a store's inventory when the customer completes the checkout process.
  • Completing the checkout process for a product reserved using Lock Inventory will not trigger a further deduction from that product's inventory.

Please note:

  • The Lock Inventory feature is turned on by default. Merchants who do not want inventory to be reserved must turn off this feature manually.
  • Lock Inventory settings can be edited at any time before the start of a livestream. From the SHOPLINE LIVE admin page, go to [Stream detail settings]. Click on the gear icon next to the stream name to access these settings.

3. Customer orders made during a livestream

After confirming the Livestream and Lock Inventory settings, you can now begin a livestream where customers can place orders.

Customers that place orders using both SHOPLINE LIVE and Facebook Live will receive a notification of when they have to complete the checkout process by.

  • Facebook Live will add the expiry date and time in the cart message in Facebook Messenger.

When a customer clicks [Checkout] they will be redirected to the checkout page on your store's main site. Both livestream orders and orders placed from the main site will be shown in the cart on the checkout page.

  • Orders placed using SHOPLINE LIVE or Facebook Live and reserved by Lock Inventory will show a "Reserve til" tag under [QTY].

  • If the Shopping Cart contains multiple orders made during different livestream sessions, the inventory reserve tag will show amount reserved for each session.

Note:

  • If an order is made using the main site and not using SHOPLINE LIVE or Facebook Live, Lock Inventory will not reserve this product and it will not show a "Reserve til" tag.
  • Lock Inventory will only reserve increases in order quantity made via the original livestream. This can be done on SHOPLINE LIVE and Facebook Live using the add-quantity button or by sending a keyword message. If a customer increases the quantity at the checkout page, Lock Inventory will not make an additional reservation.
  • Hover the mouse upon the tag and it will show the reserve date and time as well as which live the product is placed from.
  • Once a Lock Inventory deadline has expired, the"Reserve til" will no longer be displayed.
