When checking out orders in different countries/regions, the currency rounding method may differ to comply with the local regulations. With SHOPLINE's "Rounding Mechanism to Checkout Total Amount" feature, the system can automatically round up/down the decimal places of the checkout amount according to the store region.

2. Enable the feature
In the SHOPLINE Admin, go to [Settings] > [Checkout Settings]. Switch on the toggle for "Apply Rounding Mechanism to Checkout Total Amount". Remember to scroll down and click Update to save the changes.
According to the country/region of the store, the way of rounding off the checkout amount is illustrated as follows:
A. Malaysia
- After enabling the feature, the checkout amount will be rounded to the nearest 0.05. This setting can be viewed in the [Settings] > [Currency] of the POS app.
- Disabling this feature will hide the "Rounding" field.
B. Singapore
- After enabling the feature, the checkout amount will be rounded to the nearest 0.05. This information will also appear in the [Settings] > [Currency] of the POS app simultaneously.
- Disabling this feature will hide the "Rounding" field.
- You can select to consistently round up or round down.
- If the feature is disabled and then enabled again, the system will by default display the settings before the feature is disabled.
C. Hong Kong
- After enabling the feature, the checkout amount will be rounded to the nearest 0.1. This information will also appear in the [Settings] > [Currency] of the POS app simultaneously.
- Disabling this feature will hide the "Rounding" field.

Below the "Rounding to" section, click open the drop-down menu to choose to round to "0.1" or "1". After selection, click Update at the bottom of the page to save the changes.
*Note: This feature only supports merchants using iOS v.1.76.0 or Android v1.40.0 or above.
3. View rounded amount on the POS app
On the POS app, go to [Settings] > [Currency]. You can view the settings of the rounding mechanism enabled in the Admin.
*Notes:
- This page is for reference only. Please go to the Admin > [Settings] > [Checkout Settings] to adjust the settings.
- If you change the setting of the rounding mechanism in the Admin, please slide off the app (close the application) or log in to the app again to view the updated setting content.
Shopping cart page
When adding products to the shopping cart on the POS app, the "Rounding" field will appear in the order amount block. You can view the rounded up/down order amount according to the rounding mechanism of the reigon.
Checkout page
There is a field showing the rounding up/down amount.
*Note: The "Rounding" field appears in the transaction detail, customer's transaction record, and receipt.
4. View rounded amount in the Admin
You can view the round number column in the "Product Detail" section of the order details.
5. View rounded amount at the storefront
Go to the Member Center at the storefront > Orders > Order Details to view the rounding amount.
6. FAQs
Q: I am a merchant in Hong Kong. The POS app checkout was using the Banker's (round-half-to-even) Rounding. Why can't I use it after upgrading the app?
A:
- The round-half-to-even mechanism is upgraded to be set in the Admin > [Settings] > [Checkout Settings]. Please make sure you have switched on the "Apply Rounding Mechanism to Checkout Total Amount" toggle before applying the rounding mechanism on the POS app.
- The rounding mechanism has been applied, but the amount does not need to be adjusted; thus the "Rounding" field will not appear.
Q: I have enabled the rounding mechanism feature in the Admin. Why has my POS app not applied to that?
A:
- Please check the Internet connection of your POS app.
- If it is connected, please reopen the app or log in again.
