Facebook Business Extension 2.0

SHOPLINE_Support-All-Plan.jpgWe have launched the new version of Facebook Business Extension, you can integrate Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Page, Ad Account, Facebook Pixel, Instagram Business Account, and Products together. This new 2.0 version can save time on products uploading to Facebook and management. You can also set up the Facebook Ads easily and promote to your target audience. Please refer to the below procedure to set up and enable the FBE 2.0.

Facebook Business Extension 2.0 will integrate with Facebook Business Manager as well as the assets, which can manage your Facebook Ads easier. Before you enable the FBE 2.0, if you have your own Facebook Business Manager account, you can confirm whether you have already owned the assets permission; If you have not created any Facebook Business Manager, you can follow the steps below and create the new assets.

In order to maintain and secure the Facebook accounts' authenticity, Facebook will review and verify your account and assets since 2020. We suggest that you can submit your account review request through the Facebook official channel for a verified badge. Recommend you install FBE 2.0 with your verify Facebook account to ensure that Facebook won't suspend your account and assets while reviewing.

 

 

Case 1: I have owned Facebook Business Manager and All assets 

Step 1: Make sure you have Facebook assets admin access

If you have Facebook accounts with all assets of Business Manager, Facebook Page, Ad Accounts, Pixel, please ensure you have owned the admin access of all these assets. You can go to Business Settings to add admin access:

  • People in Business Settings: Make sure your Facebook account has admin access. (Please refer to Facebook Official Instruction)
  • Pages: Make sure your Facebook account is listed in "People" of Pages with admin access (Please refer to Facebook Official Instruction)
  • Ad Accounts: Make sure your Facebook account is listed in "People" of ad accounts with admin access (Please refer to Facebook Official Instruction)
  • Catalogs: Make sure your Facebook account is listed in "People" of Catalogs with admin access (Please refer to Facebook Official Instruction
  • Pixels: Make sure your Facebook account is listed in "People" of pixels with admin access and your pixel is connected your ad accounts in connected assets (Please refer to Facebook Official Instruction

 

Step 2: Start Setting

Please go to "Marketing & Tracker" > "Marketing" and Install Plug-in at your admin panelEN_Step1-2-1.png

There will be a Facebook pop-up window which shows your login account. If you have not logged in yet, please log in to your Facebook account with Continue as "your account".

Next step shows what you will be able to manage, and click "Get Started" after reading

Step 3: Choose your Business Manager and Assets

If you log in Facebook account, you will be able to use the Business Manager. The screen will show your access of Business Manager and Assets, you can click on the "arrow" for each asset, select the asset account, or create new assets directly from the right-hand corner. Your chosen assets will be shown and please click "Continue".

 

Before selecting asset, please note the following:

1. When selecting catalogs, FBE may shows the option "Products for XXX personal catalog". Since this catalog is your personal assets, you would not check it at Facebook Catalog Manager. We suggest that you could select other catalog or create a new catalog instead of using the personal in FBE. It would help you manager your assets more easily. 

2. When selecting Page, please check the Facebook account you logged in which has admin access of Facebook Page. And after choosing the Page and competing the FBE integration, Page will be owned by the Business Manager you selected in FBE.

3. If any notice is shown in red when you click "Continue", please follow the instruction and change or amend the newly created assets name.

Step 4: Authorization

Authorization is required for the integration with SHOPLINE. Please keep the below 3 items ON. SHOPLINE will only be authorized for FBE integration and data transfer, which does not have access right on your ad account or Facebook Manager.

Step 5: Compete Integration

Please press "Done" to complete the Facebook Business Extension integration.

Case 2: I have a Personal Ad Account, Pixel, and Facebook Page

If you are using personal pixel and personal ad account, and have note created Business Manager yet, please follow the steps below to setup in Business Manager. Please be reminded that only the active paid personal ad account can be transferred to the Business Manager.

At the same time, due to the limitation of Facebook, each Business Manager can only own one ad account, if you need to connect more than one ad account, the additional charge may be incurred. Please refer to Facebook Official Instruction or contact Facebook for details.
 

Step 1: Get your personal ad account

You can log in to your Facebook account and go to Campaigns to find your personal ad accounts.

Step 2: Add the personal ad account to Business Manager

Go to Business Settings >>  Accounts >> Ad Accounts >> AddEN_Step2-2-1.png

 

Please fill in your personal ad account ID in the pop-up window, and click "Create"

Step 3: Integration completed with personal assets

Once your Business Manager has connected with the personal ad account, Facebook will automatically assign your personal pixel to Business Manager, you can go to the admin panel and install thru Case 1: I have owned Facebook Business Manager and All assets".

 

 

Case 3: I don't have any Facebook Business Manager, Ad Account or Pixel

Step 1: Start Setting

If you have not created any Facebook Business Manager, Pixel, Catalogs, or Pixel, you can install Facebook Business Extension 2.0 directly. 

Please go to "Marketing & Tracker" >> "Marketing" and Install Plug-in in your admin panelEN_Step3-1-1.png

 

There will be a Facebook pop-up window which shows your login account. If you have not logged in yet, please log in to your Facebook account with Continue as "your account".

Step 2: Create your Business Manager Account

If you have already logged in the Facebook account without Business Manager, you can create and name your Business Manager Account, by using either Company Name or Shop Name and click "Create"

Step 3: Create / Select your Facebook Page

If you have already logged in with your Facebook account which has admin access of Facebook Page and Business Manager, you will be able to select the Facebook Page and press "Continue".

Note: After choosing the Page and competing the FBE integration, Page will be owned by the Business Manager you selected in FBE.

 If you have already logged in Facebook without Facebook Page or admin access, it will show "Create New Page", please fill in the page name and click "Create"

Step 4: Create your Ad Account

Facebook Business Extension 2.0 requires Ad Account in Business Manager.
If you have not created any Ad Account, please name the ad account by using either Company Name or Shop Name and click "Create"

Step 5: Create your Pixel

Facebook Business Extension 2.0 requires the Pixel in Business Manager.
If you have not created any pixel, please name the pixel by using either Company Name or Shop Name and click "Create"

Step 6: Create Catalog

The Catalog will synchronize SHOPLINE products to Facebook. Suggest you set up the name as "Facebook Page Name - SHOPLINE" for identification, and click "Create"

View Assets and Facebook Settings

1. View FBE settings

Please go to "Marketing & Tracker >> Marketing" and click "Manage settings" with a pop-up window to view the settings.EN_Step4-1-1.png

If you would like to view the connected assets, please check on the right-hand list and click "View" for details.EN_Step4-1-2.png

 

2. Create "Page Shop" and "Messenger Chat"

Besides of the connected assets, you can also enable the "Page Shop" and "Messenger Chat" functions.

  • Page ShopYou can upload the product catalog and synchronize your products to Facebook Page. Customers can view your products on Facebook Page and redirect to your online shop for checkout.
  • Messenger Chat:Customers can contact you thru the Facebook Messenger on your online shop for instant communication and inquiry.

Important Notes

1. Will the Facebook Pixel be replaced after being integrated by Facebook Business Extension?

During the process of installing Facebook Business Extension, if you select the same pixel in Tracker Settings in the panel, then the pixel will be integrated and installed. If you select the different pixels, then Facebook Business Extension will install this new pixel in your Tracker Settings. (it will not replace the original pixel.)
 

2. How do I edit/change the pixel installed by Facebook Business Extension?

If you install the pixel by Facebook Business Extension, Pixel will be installed in the "Tracker Setting" in your admin panel automatically. If you want to edit or change your pixel or the other assets, you could click the "Edit Assets" button beside Facebook Business Extension and choose the pixel or the assets in the pop-up.

 

Note: Please make sure that your installed pixel is linked with your Facebook ad account to track your data and conversion events in your store. 

 

3. Does Facebook Business Extension support all merchants?

Yes. This feature supports all plans for Facebook Manager, Facebook page, Ad Account, and Facebook Pixel to synchronize Facebook Catalog, but there are different limitations on product synchronization:

  • Premium Plan or above: Support All Products synchronization.
  • Basic / Advanced Plan: Support 10 latest added products created in Featured Category, if there is no product in Featured Category, the system will synchronize the 10 latest added products.

 

4. How do I select my pixel / Facebook page/ ad account in the install process?

If you want to select your own assets in Facebook Business Extension. Please make sure that your Facebook personal account has been assigned as Admin in the Business Manager and Facebook page. Further, you also need to assign your assets including pixel, Facebook page, and ad account to your Business Manager, and your personal account is in the asset partner lists so that you could select them in the installation process. 5. Why my product catalog is not working after the installment?

Once you install FBE 2.0, the system will automatically upload your products and synchronize, Facebook will review your products during the progress and it will take within 1 working day to finish. At the same time, you can go to Catalog Manager to observe the upload status, if the products cannot be upload successfully over 48 hours, please contact us for further checking. 

 

6. Why the ownership of my Page was changed after the installment?

Due to the Facebook Rule, one Page could be owned by only one Business Manager. Also you install FBE 2.0, the system will integrate all related assets to the chosen Business Manager. So after choosing the Page and competing the FBE integration, Page will be owned by the Business Manager you selected in FBE.

 

7. May I use the "Personal Catalog" in the FBE install process?

When selecting catalogs, FBE may shows the option "Products for XXX personal catalog". Since this catalog is your personal assets, you would not check it at Facebook Catalog Manager. We suggest that you could select other catalog or create a new catalog instead of using the personal in FBE. It would help you manager your assets more easily. 

 

 

Cancel the linkage of Facebook Business Extension

If you want to cancel the linkage of Facebook Business Extension, you may simply click "Unlink my account" in "Marketing & Tracker> > Marketing" to unlink it.EN_Step6-1.png
