The Rationale of How Promotion Applies in Cart

A. Product

ONE product can enjoy ONE promotion

B. Promotion:

(1) How the Discount Condition works

a.Total Order over: After-discount Order total (Not including Delivery Fee)

b.Selected products with minimum purchase: Selected product subtotal/Number of selected products

(2) When multiple Discount Conditions are met,

a. Promotion would be applied to Selected products with the highest discount amount first

Example:

One store is promoting the Discount Campaigns. The discount conditions of the three promotional campaigns are "Selected products comes with special offers if orders meet the $1500 minimum total order purchase requirement.

Promotion 1 "All Dress 10% off for Orders over $1500"
Promotion 2 "All Jeans collection $250 off for Orders over $1500"
Promotion 3 "All caps $50 off for Orders over $1500"

Here are the purchase from a customer:
Dress $600 (Discount amount -$60)
Jeans $600 (Discount amount -$250)
Cap $600 (Discount amount -$50)

System would help customers choose the best bargain from the promotions. The discount amount of Jeans is the highest, therefore Jeans would be the first to be discounted; After-discount price of Jeans is $350.

b. Other promotions would be applied to the selected products with the second highest discount amount if the discount conditions are met after the first discount applied to the selected products.

Using the Example above:

Jeans is applied with a selected product discount for the first round.

> The order subtotal after-discount:

$1800(sum of 3 product subtotal) - $250(Discount amount of Jeans) =$1550

The after-discount Order Subtotal is able to meet the "All Dress 10% off for Orders over $1500" discount conditions. So the dress can be discounted afterwards.

> The Order subtotal after-discount:

$1800(sum of 3 product subtotal) - $250(Discount amount of Jeans) − $60(Discount amount of Dress) =$1490

The after-discount order subtotal is less than $1500. Therefore, Promotion 3 "All caps $50 off for Orders over $1500" cannot be applied for the order.

c. After discounting the selected products, Order subtotal can be further discounted by using Order-specific promotions.

Continued:

The after-discount amount of the selected products for the order:

$1800 - $310 = $1490

At the same time, the store has other promotions applied to the Entire Order

Promotion 4 "Take $300 off for Orders over $1000"
Promotion 5 " Take 10% off for Orders over $1000" (Discounted amount $149)

The discount amount of Promotion 4 is higher Promotion 5, therefore the Entire Order would be further discounted by applying "Take $300 off for Orders over $1000" Promotion.

> The Final amount the customer has to pay:

$1490 - $ 300 = $1190

(3) If there are multiple promotions valid to the Entire Order, system would determine the Best Bargain for the customers.

Example:

The store has two promotions for the Entire Order

Promotion 1 "Take 10% off for Orders over $1000"
Promotion 2 "Take $200 off for Orders over $1000"

a.

When the order subtotal is $1000,

Discount amount $100 for Promotion 1
Discount amount $200 for Promotion 2

System would choose the highest discount amount to be applied in the order. Therefore "Take $200 off for Orders over $1000" Promotion is applied to the order.

b.

When the order subtotal is $3000,

Discount amount $300 for Promotion 1
Discount amount $200 for Promotion 2

System would choose the highest discount amount to be applied in the order. Therefore "Take 10% off for Orders over $1000" Promotion is applied to the order.

(4) Coupon Code

If the Coupon Code is successfully applied in the cart,

a.Another Coupon Code with different discount condition & Benefits can be applied for the order at the same time.

b.Another Coupon Code with the SAME discount condition & Benefits cannot be applied for the order at the same time.

(5) How Free Shipping applies in the order

If you have set the Discount condition of "Total Order over required amount", the Free Shipping Promotion will be valid when the After-discount Order Subtotal is more than the required amount.

Example:

The store has two promotions for the Entire Order

Promotion 1 "Free Shipping for Orders over $1000"
Promotion 2 "Take 10% off for all clothing"

The customer chooses:

Clothing: $500 x 1
Shoes:    $500 x1

The Order subtotal is $1000, therefore the clothing item can be discounted.

Order Subtotal of the clothing: $500 x 0.9 = $450

After the clothing item is discounted, the order subtotal:
$1000 (Subtotal) - $50 (Discounted Amount of clothing) = $950 (Order Subtotal)

Therefore, the orders subtotal is unable to meet the Free Shipping Condition and NO Free Shipping can be applied to the order.
