To provide better customer experience, merchants can now setup Apple Pay as new payment option.
This article will cover:
Transaction fee: 3.4% + HK$2.35 per successful card charge
The price is the same for all major cards. There’s no additional fee for international cards, failed charges, or refunds. For more details, please visit: https://stripe.com/hk/pricing
Go to your SHOPLINE Admin Panel > "Settings" > "Payment Options" > Press "Add" button
Select your "Payment Type" as "Apple Pay" > Click "Activate" to start setting up your account
You will be directed to a page as shown below.
If you already have a Stripe account, click "Sign in" on the top right hand corner to login to your account;
For new registrations, please enter your information below > Click "Authorize access to your account"
You will be redirected back to SHOPLINE admin panel after authorization.
Here you will see the system has updated the payment method with Stripe's secret key & Publishable key. You can now set up your payment processing fee, edit the name of your payment method for Apple Pay and check if you need to exclude any delivery options.
After you've done the setup > Press "Update" to add Apple Pay
Log in to your Stripe account again
Choose "Payments" > Click "Apple Pay" tab > Click "Add new domain" button to input your shop domain
Although Apple Pay has been added, it is currently not visible in your store.
Go back to SHOPLINE admin panel > "Settings" > "Payment Options" > Click "Publish" to start using this payment method in your store
To get started, you will need to add your debit, credit, or prepaid cards to your device first.
Check that you are up to the following standards:
- Eligible device
- A supported card from a participating card issuer
- The latest version of iOS or macOS
- An Apple ID signed in to iCloud
Here we'll demonstrate how to setup Apple Pay in mobile. Click here to learn set up procedures of other devices.
Go to "Wallet" > tap "Add Credit or Debit Card"
Follow the steps to add a new card. If you're asked to add the card that you use with iTunes, just enter its security code > Tap "Next"
Your bank or card issuer will verify your information and decide if you can add your card to Apple Pay. If your bank or issuer needs more information to verify your card, they'll ask you for it.
Go back to "Settings" > "Wallet & Apple Pay" and tap your card
After your bank or issuer verifies your card > Tap "Next"
You can now start using Apple Pay
After customers confirm purchase and proceed to checkout, they will see "Apple Pay" button
Payment details are then popped up and customers can choose different payment card by clicking the ">" button if they have added more than one card in Wallet.
After that, customers have to authenticate payment by scanning their fingerprint with Touch ID to complete the purchase.
If customers are not using MacBook Pro with Touch ID, the checkout procedure is slightly different. Here we will demonstrate checkout flow using Mac without Touch ID and authenticating payment with iPhone.
You will need to fulfil the following requirements:
- Mac is updated to MacOS Sierra
- Use Safari to place order
- Both phone and Mac are connected to the same iCloud account
- Both phone and Mac bluetooth are turned on
If your device does not support Apple Pay, you'll see the following message in checkout page.
After customers confirm purchase and choose Apple Pay as payment method, a dialog as below is shown.
Customers can double check shipping address and contact information; and choose card for payment if they have added more than one card in Wallet.
Click to confirm device proceeding payment and scan fingerprint using selected device
When your payment is successful, you'll see "Done" and a checkmark on the screen
